Seems to me Johnson is simply repeating a lot of The Black Power arguments from the 1960s. The idea being that black people should stop complaining about how white-owned institutions/businesses treat them. Instead, they should build their own institutions/businesses. They key word being own, as in owning everything rather than playing/working for a white owner.

Doesn't seem to me that Johnson is saying that black people should have their own "black-only" league. He seems instead to be saying that black people should own as much as they can. And that if you continue to play for guys like Sterling, you shouldn't be surprised when you run into a slaveowner mentality.
