Actually, I think Barkley would fit just fine in Chip's offense. I heard an interview with Chip and he said that his offense isn't built around a quarterbacks ability to run, that ability is simply an added bonus in some cases. It's more about the ability to make quick reads and get rid of the football.

The impression that I got was that he'd prefer that his quarterback not have to run!!

Yeah, I heard that. And Matt said the same thing- it's about quick tempo and no-huddle, more than it is about a QB running the ball. In fact, Matt or Chip, or both likened it to the Jim Kelley Buffalo Bills offense they used to run- and Jim Kelley was a statue compared to Barkley!

While Barkley may certainly fit in Kelly's up tempo offense, I believe never will he be considered a duel threat. To see that in Kelly's up tempo offense we will most likely see it run with Mike Vick

But The liability of the running QB ala Oregon Ducks and Mike Vick is that they get injured and miss games.

If they can get Matt playing right they'd be happy to have him. He would be in since the running QB(s) got hurt- so they wouldn't want to see him run too.
