Not a hater but a realist. If Kobe was playing the "right way" he would have made a difference. I think they win against a banged up Spurs team.

the only difference mambita would have made is have the refs kiss his ballhoggin azz. u would see a freethrow parade. interesting that the fakers have all pointed to dwight as the reason for the free thrwo disparities and now there is none. its all wbout pleasing the kobita fans.

even wit kobina, the spurs would have won. it just might not be a sweep.

Bam, you probably think I'm a Kobe hater or non-appreciator, so I'll respond.

Kobe would have made a huge difference on the offensive end for sure, especially if he were playing smart like I would expect him to do in the playoffs, facilitating and not settling for contested fadeaways or 4- to 6- minute stretches of isolation. I've never doubted his ability, just pointed out the lapses, and I miss him just as much as you do.

But have you seen what the Lakers are suddenly able to do on the defensive end? I think that was a point of contention between you and I previously. If I remember correctly, you were in disbelief that somehow a volume shooter could affect a team's defense. Anything you want to say about that now?

really hard to disagree wit u there my lawyer friend. kobina possesses the ball so much that the turnovers increase along with the poor guard defense. manu and parker would score more.

Kobe would have made a difference for sure. Lakers starters will be a year older next year and near 40 in age for several. This is the lakers for the next 5 years until they truly start rebuilding.

I wonder how much game planning Pop is doing regarding Morris, Duhon, and Goudelock. This disastrous season has come down to those three in the backcourt for the Lakers. That's not gonna put any fear into anyone, especially a well-oiled machine like the Spurs.

Not necessarily Logic. It depends on if D12 resigns and if they can get an elite free agent to team up with him during the summer of 2014. That summer will determine a lot regarding a quick turnaround for the Lakers or a longer rebuild as you predict.

I wouldnt say 5 years but the rebuilding needs to start next year. Starting with a nice sign and trade using Howard

actually kobina would make a difference since every one of their aged guard or pointguard is injured. he would just be as much use as goudelock.

why dont they just put kobina on the court. let him just run back and forth on crutches. u know the refs will give him 20 FTAs, thats what he usually averagesd in meaningful games. he should make 18 of them. thats 18 points... which is more than many of the fakers scoring output.

i am posting with substance. a lot of u dolts think kobe would make a difference. u all talk in the abstract. the fact of the matter is yes he would make a difference with all the faker guards being injured.

as a corollary to that, his bloated salary strangles ur team. thats a reason why kobina injured is such a loss.

True, true. My point however is with a dude like Manu on the court the Lakers, as assembled, can ill afford to play from behind. Knock out the turnovers, hit the outside shots early on to open up the paint a little bit more. By the way Steve Nash can be that guy we need in crunch time. He just wasn't game ready IMO but hopefully by Wednesday we will see a different Nash.
Of course older slower..#12 better don his Superman costume or...:laugh3:

I agree Horns, but also the Lakers need to make the Spurs make a move... Every time the Lakers look to swing the ball the weak side defender acts like they will run out but they want to sit in the paint and help... Pass the ball and make those guys actually move so Pau and Dwight can get some room...we'll see if Dantoni can make something happen...I really believe Nash should come off the bench or sit... He isn't ready to run with the starters...
:agree:

Yeah that was a response post Cougar.

Steve Nash looked all the worse for the ware, but oh well... Injuries-R-Us was the theme for this years Lakers squad. The tone was set when HCMDA hobbled out on crutches when he took over as the Head Coach...

It is what it is....

Most people believe that the Lakers can win this one and advance. The Lakers might get stopped by the Denver Thugs though if they don't figure out a few things. I still believe that the Lakers are good enough to beat the Spurs and Denver Thuggets, but not good enough to beat Miami or Oklahoma
Oops my bad..Lakers cannot beat any team in the playoffs!!:2cents:

Didn't think this sort of thinking still existed. Dinosaurs.

Please name any other player in the league outside of LBJ or KD that you would rather build around?

D12 is a great player to build around, it's hard to see for some Slugs because he is a defensive player first. We need others around him to play some team defense who can put together a decent offensive output. Not sure what that looks like in the long run but I bet Mitch does...

BTW - Welcome aboard Slugs.... Ignore the trolls bro haven't seen it here this bad ever. And when I say "ignore" I do mean it. When you get to 40 post you can ignore anyone you choose, and it's as if they are not even there.
