If they actually want to turn the page on their era of silliness of the last 3-4 years and actually start competing for something - This is a must.

He actually had a good first season under D'Antoni. Things took a 180 under Scott. He won't be in a Lakers uniform next season. Hopefully they can trade him for some peanuts, but it's more likely that he gets stretched.

As a completely unbiased NBA fan I think the Lakers should offer Swappy P a long term deal.

I have seen the Lakers trade the worst players, but I believe they have tried and failed to trade this guy - Nobody so far in the last two years have accepted any offers. He has a player option next year, so depending on the team that is looking for an expiring contract there is some possibility that he would be dead weight and waived.
