Lonzo?![]()
I don't really buy that. Lonzo may be a very very good player but Kyrie's that already. He may not be a centerpiece but he may provide more incentive when targeting other stars. To me Kyrie is not and never will be the centerpiece of a championship team. So the Lakers would need more than him, Ingram, and Randle to seriously contend. Especially in the west. They may win more games initially but in the long run it would be a one step forward, two steps back kind of move. Plus you can't get rid of Lonzo before he even plays a game. At least not in this situation.
It's not like they're flushing the cap space down the toilet though.Because it would screw up his cap space next Summer.
They have a Pg and they want a wing who is a franchise type player. It's not like they're flushing the cap space down the toilet though.
Westbrook has supermax on the table in OKC. Slim chance he passes on that. They have a Pg and they want a wing who is a franchise type player.
Paul George and Lebron will be on the market.
If Lonzo isn t the answer, maybe They go for one of those guys and Westbrook if he doesn't extend.
Maybe they go for Wall if he doesn't extend.
They are not going to abandon their plans for a guy who wants to be Westbrook 2.0, sans the defense when the original model could be on the market.
This is not Paul George who could bolt at Seasons end.Westbrook has supermax on the table in OKC. Slim chance he passes on that.
Everything else is theoretical. They may very well go that route but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them go for Kyrie. Not sure why it would surprise anybody TBH.
Just for pure comedy reasons i would crack the fuck up if kyrie leaves lebron for miami

The only reason I could see them avoiding this is if Kyrie's really intent on not being in Lebron's shadow and the Lakers think Lebron's a realistic target then it makes no sense to get Kyrie.
@Bloody Brian Burke .....I forgot about Clarkson who makes 12 mil.
Clarkson, Randle, Lonzo....
Maybe the Cavs bite?
If I'm the Lakers, I'd try to keep Lonzo to play with Kyrie.
Now...that would be a filthy backcourt.
But, they would get obliterated defensively and you forfeit your chance at Lebron.
Kyrie is a very good player.
But, he is a ball dominant scorer who doesn't play defense. He is the point guard version of Carmelo Anthony. He makes a great complimentary piece playing next to a stud like LeBron, but if he is the franchise player, expect results similar to what the Knicks have had with Melo.
