Congrats. I didn't think anything could derail the Tua hype train, but I'm happy for Murray.

As an aside, it's nice to have a group where none of the guys seem to be jerks.

I guess I was really spoiled growing up because most of the Heisman winners and candidates haven't stood out. Not like the Eric Crouch trick play catch vs OU or the Woodson pick vs MSU & punt return vs OSU and etc. Just seems like average. Manziel basically had one magical game and wasn't that impressive. Then Suh like him or hate him dominated the game from a position group that doesn't stand out as much.

Problem is you can't. Do you really want them to start handing out awards based on projecting how a player would do in a different situation? In Tua's biggest game and only contested game of the year he put up awful numbers, ankle or not, that is most likely what lost him the Heisman.
Yes I want them to look at schedules and project. OU played zero teams with a competent pass defense. Tua was injured versus Georgia early and again late because he faced a defense that actually is competent.

No, but at the same time there was plenty of speculation that “OU would lose 4-5 without Murray” that swayed some voters. Funny thing is we heard the same about Mayfield last year, and we now know Murray likely would’ve done at least as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely think Murray is deserving. But defenses faced is as valid a stat as the rest of it, and speculation is speculation and should NOT be a part of it.

Congrats to Murray. Dont forget there is more football to play and your win just placed a big target on your back.

I am right. Tua faced 3 Defenses rated in The Top 30 in passing Efficiency. Kyler=0. It isn't about crying. Kid had a heck of a season. I'd love to see Tua versus that schedule he played.

Would love to see what Kyler could do against Arkansas St., The Citdadel, Louisville, and Louisiana!

I mean don't act like Alabama had this all world schedule when the played one of the worst non conference schedules of any power 5 team.

Bahahaha. OU faced 8 teams that were 6-6 or worse. They didn't face a Passing Efficiency defense in the Top 30. The best they faced (TCU 47th) held them to 213 yards passing. Sit down son.

You also played Texas A&M and Missouri who OU beat like a drum every year in the Big 12. I really don't see your point.

And neither one of them began their collegiate careers at OU.

Do you guys have another understudy watching and learning this year that will perform next year like Baker and Kyler have the last two years? That formula seems to be working very, very well.
I wish, but I believe we have 6'2 212lbs so behind Murray and a 4* coming in next year.

I think there is plenty of "eye test" opinions out there already. There doesn't need to be more

So 2 teams that haven't been in the Big 12 in over half a decade is your response ? Sheesh. Atleast TAMU and Missouri can win 8 games. Unlike 8 teams on OU's schedule.

OU faced only 4 teams with 8 wins (Texas twice)

Alabama faced 6 teams with 8 wins. None twice.

I'm sure this is where you bring up some obscure fact from a decade ago.

There is no eye test involved in looking at defensive ratings.

I knew Haskins wasn't winning it but was shocked to see he was left off of 40% of ballots. That is crazy to me with the season he had.
all 3 are Heisman worthy. For one I won't be disappointed if it goes to Haskins or Tua.

I find it funny how some people selectively decide what is competent. Was the Georgia pass defense last year competent? I know Murray wasn’t the QB but his numbers have paralleled the guys that was so it’s a valid arguement.

UGA held OU to their 2nd lowest passing yards total 289. Mayfield threw only 2 TD and 1 pick. The OU running game is what killed UGA. It's like you guys don't look at stats before posting.

Lmao, it’s all about the offense and you are right we did smoke your run defense too. Based on Murray’s running ability you thibk he just might have been part of that too? This is comical.
