It's too early to make an educated guess, but they have looked like a contender for a playoff spot the past 2 games. I really like how they're playing smart team ball with sand.

I have them around that win total with a ceiling of a 7th seed in the West. I still don't think they make it in this season, but I think they're on the right track. They have their young core in place and just need maturation now with some tweaks in the lineup down the line. But they look pretty promising into the start of the Walton coaching era.

Not trying to be a buzz kill, but 33-37 is what most people expect from the Lakers this year. And that's not like coming out and saying that the Lakers will win in the high 40's/low 50s. The win total you mentioned is definitely doable.

35 is probably the absolute ceiling for them. If they get to about 30, I'll be happy. They have a new coaching staff and a completely different look. I think they are kind of catching teams by surprise right now.

Eventually, the better teams will start to figure them out a little and the season will start to wear on them (still a lot of young 'uns).
