Actually, the over/under for wins for the Lakers was set at something like 24.5.

I stand corrected. I guess I'm basing this off of the East and West being more balanced then in previous years. The coaching actually looks good given its limited sample size. Also, these young players have been together for quite a few years with quality veterans like Williams and Deng being added to the mix. Also helps that Mozgov has been doing fairly well.

Not trying to be a buzz kill, but 33-37 is what most people expect from the Lakers this year. And that's not like coming out and saying that the Lakers will win in the high 40's/low 50s. The win total you mentioned is definitely doable.

Agree. One of my favorite things I've seen so far is the veteran guys pulling the youngsters aside and talking to them during the game. Particularly Deng. He's pulled Russell aside a couple of times during games, put his arm around him and gave him some pointers.

Deng and Mozgov have been doing exactly what I hoped they'd do when the Lakers signed them.

Their growth won't be measured in wins and losses.

But, they will compete hard, be extremely entertaining and will be in most games until the end.

Really seems like they are having fun and buying in.

Next to Durant, Walton just might be the best off-season acquisition.

The weird thing is I think the Lakers have given the Warriors major beatdowns in each of the last three years, with obviously inferior teams. They are Warrior kryptonite for whatever reason one game a year.

I'm greedy and want the 35 wins but I think 5 games is insufficient to expect 35 to 40 wins in a game where bad luck prevail. Lets see what the numbers look like after 20 games first

Let's be honest here, the Lakers could easily be 4-2 or even 5-1 if it wasn't for some bad shooting nights. They've held 4th quarter leads in all but one game this season but couldn't close out.

These last two games showed they're finally learning how to do that.
