There's no question they need more youth, and have every since they got swept by the Mavs.

They can't run or keep up in transition, they dont even slow down opposing PGs, and they don't rotate and get out on shooters well, which is a death sentence in the West.

Kobe isn't blind, he knows they're too old and slow. The problem is HOW to address it if he realistically wants Dwight and Gasol to stick around. I can't be done.

Put your $ where your mouth is Kobe. Only chance the Lakers have to get younger is if they get rid of Gasol and Nash and restructure Kobe's deal for about 1/3 of what it is.

Oh yeah, while they are at it, they might want to consider a new coach. D'antoni is a joke. He only knows how to coach 1 system and the players he has now don't come close to fitting it.

The easiest way for the Lakers to get younger is to have Kobe and his 25 million amnestied.

That would clear the way for younger players quickly.

Doesn't matter who coaches the Lakers at this point. One of Kobe's main goals is to pass MJ's career point total. As long as he has that on his mind, it won't matter who's coaching.

He has to get his points one way or another.

I feel for you, but then again I grew up as a Bullets/Wizards fan, so I have seen my team make horrendous mistake after horrendous mistake for about 20 years. At least the Lakers have had a little success in the past. Don'tknowi

I have been following the Lakers for 50+ years so I have been through a few but this one with Short Buss boggles the sensibilities to the point of making one's head explode.
