lol, the coach was fired!

you don’t get fired for doing a good job!

There are actually a lot of coaches who have been fired after doing a good job.

Coaches are fired for many reasons.

And my point all along is that you can’t always tell how the coach is doing when the roster is so flawed.

Always liked thibs coaching , knicks make post season 2020-21. Bank on it!
This was post #763. Pretty much says this lineup will compete if they will make post season (which current standings they would, but there is a longs ways to go and I would be they don't).

Did not know season was over!

also, I did post, and you can do your search, that I did not realize thibs was not an offensiveminded coach.

Nah, my work is done. You said find where you said they were a shoe in for the playoffs, and boom right there in your own words.
You claim everyone else is misrepresenting what you are saying, but it is right there in your post history.

Stan Van Gundy had done a good job with the Heat, and got fired early season when the team got off to a slowish start (11-10, better than any recent Knicks).

Here are a few

Ty Lue and David Blatt from Cleveland
Mike Malone from Sacramento in 2015
Byron Scott from the Nets in 2004
Don Nelson from the Mavs in 2005

I am sure there are more.

Ooops, sorry, Van Gundy resigned to spend more time with his family officially (read-he was fired) (and it was 15-12).

You continue to go out of your way to try to make it look like I was wrong. I wasn’t.

This is still a weak team. But Thibs has them competing a bit which should satisfy you.
Thibs has done a decent enough job to this point all things considered and given what he has to work with.
That said...I thought he erred today by sticking with RJ & Mitch too long...both of whom clearly didn't have it in the 2nd game of a b2b.
I was hoping to see Frankie & Noel getting some of those minutes. Oh well. I'm sure he had his reasons.
This was another very winnable game they let get away.

Next game is in Miami on Tuesday.

Maybe D-Rose will be available by then??

Lol. Will you ever forgive me for thinking an NBA coach used a little trickery once in awhile to pull one out.

The Knicks acquire D rose!

Y
Because Thibs wanted him....and they also needed to clear out some dead weight...(DSmith)
Not to mention he's played for him previously...(Bulls & Twolves)...where he thrived.

He'll provide a much needed upgrade in the backcourt.

Did I say that?

You asked to me find a single coach who got fired mid season after doing a good job.

I found 5 from the past 20 years pretty quickly.

I went back to the first page and looked at a @tlance post where he said the roster as assembled is good for 30-35 games at most If you extrapolate out their 11 wins to an 82 game season it comes out to 37.5, pretty damn close for @tlance.

I was told there would be no math.
