Not a single fast break point by knicks tonight. And only 6 3 pointers made.

think about that for a moment!

Knicks would have a new coach every week if Pasta was in charge.
Knicks haven’t needed a coach since van goofy left.

here’s the ball, see that basket over there? Now remember, you get this side this half , next half you get that one. All you have to do is hope the other team misses after 3 or 4 attempts they have the ball , and if you get ball after 5th attempt , you just aim for the basket opposite the one the other team just had 4 chances at. You only get one chance, So make it count. Now, go get em!

Knicks haven’t had a competitive roster since Amare was on the team and healthy.

Knicks haven’t had a rational coach either!

How can you possibly think damphony s style could ever work with a team that can’t shoot 3’s. You come here for the big contract, to do what?

and again, it all falls on the org. They have not gotten it together since #33.

oyyyyyyyy!

They have had the same shite Type roster They have now, what they did not have was a coach who got them to work!

problem I see now is thibs only attribute is work hard but no creativity, not doing a thing when there shot is off which is happening more often as of late.

one last thing, I watched a little more closey , and what I noticed is that Robinson has gotten himself open underneath, but these dummies have no vision, and can’t pass worth shite.

I need to re-evaluate this team.

D’Antoni is the type of coach who can succeed, but he needs the right roster.

He was building toward that before the Melo trade.

Would it have been a brand of basketball you would have enjoyed, but they would have been a perennial playoff team under D’Antoni had they not made the Melo trade and focused on signing best available player in FA.

Melo was an awful fit for D’Antoni.

Melo, one of the most prolific scorers in games history was a bad fit for damphony?

melo, got a bad rap in New York ! He played hard every game, both ends . He gave his body up more than I have seen from any star player from my vantage pt.

He ruined his rep in NY , and NY is the place to do it. Why do you think big names no longer come here?

Watch and see what happens to KD or Kyrie, if they fail to bring a ring to NY!

Yes. He was the ultimate ball stopper. D’Antoni’s system required a play maker and ball movement. Melo just wanted his ISOs and never bough into D’Antoni’s offense.

Melo is one of the most overrated players in recent league history.

Yep. He was more interested in "getting his". It was telling (and a big blow to Melo's rep) when he went out with an injury, Jeremy Lin started running D'Antoni's offense the way it's supposed to be run and the Knicks started winning.

Then Melo comes back, the ball stopped moving and the Knicks started losing again. That's when I knew for certain that Melo would never win a title...at least not on a team where he was the #1.

Wow , I’m not a stat guy, but Melo is #17 on all time scoring list. That’s overrated?

Back to damphony while in NY...

his philosophy here was get the ball up the court as fast as you can, one pass down low, only for it to be passed right back out to a player beyond the arc... a playmaker???? Lol. That’s absurd! All that guy was here was a windmill on the sidelines pushing his players up court.

It is because he could have been so much better and maybe even won a title if he were more interested in winning and less interested in his own numbers.

I understand your point , but he was brought here to score, we had no other scorers on team. And with all due respect , he is a proven winner. Maybe not a pro level but he did he college .

Jeremy Lin??????? Lol. We talking Jeremy Lin , Biggest fluke in all sport history!!! That dude stole the formula from Professor Klump

Have you seen him play every game for a whole season?

Not exactly.

D'Antoni's offense is about sharing the ball and getting guys in the best position to score. It's why any point guard running his system who wasn't "score first" saw his assist numbers increase dramatically. It's why, when Melo was out injured, the Knicks played better with Jeremy Lin running the offense than Melo.

So yes, for D'Antoni's system to work at it's best...you need a playmaking point guard.

And, if he had bought in to D'Antoni's system he'd have had plenty of opportunities to score and likely would have had an easier time scoring. Winning in college (where he only played 1 year) and winning in the NBA are 2 very different things. In college, most of the players who were trying to stop him, were guys who would be doing something other than playing basketball for a living. In the NBA, everyone plays basketball for a living.

And yes, Jeremy Lin. He's not any kind of a great player, but he ran D'Antoni's system very well. His problem was that he can't play in any other system.
