Uncanny , no matter the coach, it’s players , the Knicks are as consistent as a sucky team could ever be. Go on a consecutive win streak only to mirror it with as many losses.

Dolan , must be a warlock.

You are finally getting it!

Getting what?

What I have been saying all along?

That there simply isn’t enough good minds and talent in the NBA!

There are way too many orgs that have sucked for so long in the NBA not just the Knicks .

No matter the coach, the Knicks will suck (or be average) because they don’t have people in place that can build a competent roster.

And those teams who perpetually suck like the Wizards and Kings have the same problem.

It isn’t on coaching at all.

1- You mean like when you said Dolan can't be the problem with the Knicks because the Rangers don't stink?

Although Dolan is responsible, he is not the problem.

He owns the New York Rangers and he relies the same way on the GM he hired to his or her job. The rangers have been contenders many years under Dolans ownership.

Knicks on the other hand have sucked because the GMs Dolan has hired and relied have not gotten it done. PERIOD

You probably think that Dolan selects the players in the NBA draft too.. lol

"although Dolan is responsible, he is not the problem" <-----

My goodness you're just dumb.

You still haven't figured out the NBA isn't the NHL?

You really are a lost cause.

1- He has no input on who is drafted or who the GM is or who the HC is because nothing is his fault. As the owner it's not his fault his team has done next to nothing this century.

Most places it takes great minds running the show + a lot of luck to build a contender.

A place like Sacramento it takes a miracle.

In New York though?

Nah.

Such a huge advantage being in that market. All it requires is competence.

And when Dolan fails for 20+ years to hire someone who can build anything close to a contender?

That is on him.

Building/rebuilding in hockey and basketball are very different. Just because you get one doesn't mean you get the other. In fact, having success in building a hockey team may lead you to believe the same methods will work in basketball. This will lead you to asking the wrong questions in your hiring interviews or believing answers that are just wrong for building a basketball team. That is how the Rangers may be fine with Dolan, but the Knicks suck with Dolan. It is not a lack of basketball minds, it is asking the wrong questions and believing the wrong answers when he is hiring. Hockey=/=basketball

How many have the built-in advantage of the NY market though? The Nets tried to get accepted into that market, but they will always be the little brother franchise.

To be fair, ALL championships require at least some luck, starting with health.

Of course they do!

But the Knicks can’t even get in the ballpark of being close.

That isn’t bad luck.

It is bad management.

Pastas uncle davinci said ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication

Y’all are overthinking this hockey basketball thing .

They both have the same formula for success.

A good GM, scouting system, specialty coaches, trainers, nutritionists, drs & players.

Rangers have this

Knicks have this

There is absolutely no difference in what their goals are.

The only difference between the 2 teams is the rangers have star players with good support and some decent draft picks.

The Knicks have 1 better than average player , less than average support and suspect draft picks ..

The result of this is indicative of their respective records in the leagues they play in.

Of course, presently both teams are in a playoff position, most likely will change down the stretch. And even if the Knicks get in … well you know the rest . I think.
Maybe not. Esp you Wamu. You big dummy!!!

They don’t have the same formula though. Same goals sure.

Hockey has different rules and a much different player demographic.

Dolan is regarded much differently in those 2 circles.

BOOM!

That is where this thread should've ended ^ (for the umpteenth time.)
But of course it won't because "certain folks" choose to live in an alternate universe.
So the ad nauseam excuses and misdirects will ensue regardless.

I love the Knicks. Been a fan for most of my life. (since the 67-68 season during grade school)
Seen it all.....thick & thin...good, bad & ugly...highs & lows.
Division titles...conference titles....2 championships.
But at this point....I can't help but refer to them lately as the Knickerbollocks.
The front office needs a drastic overhaul..starting with the very top.
Shit be getting old. But I'm mostly preaching to the choir.

Happy New Year, y'all.
That is all.

What is totally amazing to me is is that I completely agree that the only way to win a ring in the NBA today is to have a star player or 2 with support . GM and coach don’t mean shit!

But, that these ninkumpoops completely disagree that no star players will play at the most famous arena for another reason other than Dolan?

Most of the sports fans I talk to here in NY never ever say it’s because if Dolan. They don’t like him, but it’s not because of him they feel a star won’t sign. We mostly agree that the pressures of playing here and the fact that they will be held accountable is why. Also ,they get what they want , money, in other places that did not have as much years ago.
