Not that surprised with this move.
Mike Woodson was fired as coach of the New York Knicks on Monday and Steve Kerr, a leading candidate to replace him, said later in the day that he expects to hear from new team president Phil Jackson soon.
I think Kerr and Fisher would both be good coaches. I lean towards Fisher because he was known for hard nose defense.
It has been reported Dolan and PJ are already at odds over personnel decisions...
NYK are fucked.
You obviously have not heard Phil Jackson say over the years that both Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw should be given a chance at head coaching. Rambis coaches like Phil Jackson's philosopy and Phil would be there to advise him as needed. So laugh away laughing boy - but there really isn't anything better out there any way
I'd rather Phil either bring in Lionel Hollins or Mark Jackson. Kurt Rambis would be a last resort choice, followed by Derek Fisher. Jeff Van Gundy still remains a wild card possibility.
That's the way I see it, also.
If I'm a player...... it would be kind of hard to look at Kurt and take him serious as a coach.
I bumped this thread so I could say I was wrong and TLF was "mostly" right.
It's quite clear now that Phil wants someone who knows his triangle system and who he can help run it.
The next coach of the New York Knicks:
