Time for a reality check folks....

Kirk is leading the NFL in interceptions per attempt...going into the game for all QB's that are active and have thrown 400 or more passes...He throws interceptions at the absolute highest rate....and through the first 3 games he's really done nothing to change that. He's basically averaging an interception for every 25 attempts. That means he's going to throw a pick in every single game. The likelihood, of the Skins getting through a football game without at least 1 Kirk Cousins interception is basically 0. Because, in most games, teams will throw the ball at least 25 times. In addition, he's under throwing and overthrowing open guys, not making plays.

RGIII has thrown 600 more passes than Cousins and still has less interceptions over his career. Last year, RG3 threw the ball 214 times and he had 6 interceptions that's about 35 passes, before you throw a pick. That means the likelihood of getting through a game without an interception is extremely high with Robert Griffin. It's 10 reps better than Kirk...so, we didn't improve, we went backwards....

....reality check complete.

That's one reality. Here's another.

In 9 games played, 7 of which he started. Griffin threw more INTs, 6, than TD passes, 4. Cousins threw twice as many TD passes, 10, in less games, 5, than Griffin did in 2014.

Cousins is much more likely to throw INTs while Griffin is significantly less likely to throw TD passes.

Reality 2 check complete...................

Soooooo, correct me if I'm wrong, but if stats are correct then neither is likely to lead this anemic offense to touchdowns, but Griffin is less likely to kill the team with foolish turnovers??

The only reality I'm seeing is that we most likely don't have the long term solution at QB on this team.

Brock you are way off. KC is not the worst QB on this team. Yes he was awful last night no doubt but every QB is going to have a bad game. Look at what Luck did Monday night against the Jets. Im pissed too but lets move on to the next game. IF KC continues like he did last night then I would agree with you. After one game I am not ready to throw in the towel in KC.

It's funny, but we are all arguing over which one sucks worse. That's how low we have sunk.

No correction is needed. We're all free to hold our opinions. I'd opine that Cousins is the answer to both. He's more likely to lead the team to TDs and kill the team with foolish INTs.

The bottom line though is that neither is going to lead this team anywhere except possibly the cafeteria for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Heh.

Still feel that Kirk gives this offense the best chance tho. Even with his suckiness last night.

I know you have this fascination with Cousins and I will let you have it Dean however, Griffin has not even had the opportunity to play in the offense with the so called improved offensive line yet. My best guess is he may have taken a few sacks last night but would have also made a few big plays running and throwing by using his feet which Cousins is unable to do because he is not very athletic at all. Personally, I would like to see what all 3 QB's can do behind the new and improved offensive line but with Gruden being a Griffin hater, we won't see that.

Oh well, at this pace Gruden will be gone after next season because he shows no leadership qualities, his teams completely lack discipline and in case you didn't notice, his team was ill prepared to play last night in case you didn't notice. You have to surround yourself with competent coaches and its apparent that is lacking in D.C. Washington had every opportunity to get back into the game with N.Y. doing nothing but kicking FG's but Kirk all but squashed that with his play. Kirk is not the answer in Washington and quite frankly, neither is Gruden. Just keep trusting in S.M. and give him some time to put ALL the pieces in place.

And by no means is this a bashing of Cousins but it is quite clear a game manager is not what this team needs moving forward which Cousins has clearly demonstrated he is only capable of. I'm putting my faith in McCloughan that he puts together a team we can be proud of and rally behind after his year 3.

We have seen what RG3 can do over the last two years...it's not impressive. Give KC a true shot to learn on the field.

You also need to look at the rate in which RG3 gets sacked and fumbles.

yeah its pretty sad. it is looking more and more like the solution at the QB1 position is in the 2016 draft.

Really GK? Behind what, the worst offensive line in football? Year 1 he led this team to an NFC East title with very little help other than Morris. Now that we have a so called improved line, he gets NO shot? I call B.S. Griffin certainly has his issues and needs to continue learning how to play the position however, his upside and athletic ability gives him the edge over turnover prone Cousins and noodle arm McCoy. I still believe McCloughan has a plan that includes RG3.

skinzwiz, RG3 will not see the field this year b/c of his contract. If he gets hurt we are screwed. What is the point in playing McCoy? He is not the answer and is not the future. KC is going to have to really stink it up for a change to be made. Yes I like KC but I admit when he has a bad game. He was awful last night but way to early to give up on him. If KC plays the year and becomes a below avg to avg QB then yes the organization will move on from him and look elsewhere.

skinswiz the only reason why RG3 succeeded is because of the read option offense. With is injury history how is RG3 and upside?

Let us not forget that the Rams dropped a couple of Kirks floaters. We could very easily be 0-3 behind Kirk. If RG3 had that running game against the Rams, he'd have won that game too. Kirk is just not that good. Hes not accurate and is a pick waiting to happen. He's shown us what he is. Time to start believing him. Since RG3 has been injured Kirk has had just as many starts and has shown us nothing. I'd rather see RG3 screw up back there than Kirk, considering what we invested in him. I just don't see Kirk getting better, he seems like he's scared.

.....and we are talking about the league worst for interceptions, LEAGUE WORST!! ....just chew on it for a while.

Unfortunately I don't think so. This doesn't appear to be a sting draft class for QBs.
