I just don't see the Texans taking JF, but I could be wrong.

Looks good for us though with Matthews and Evans.

depending on how bad you HAVE to have Matthews, you could probably move back a couple of spots and still get him...and pick up a few more picks in the process. Just need to find someone that is REALLY wanting Bridgewater or JFF, whichever is left.

There is no way I'd spend a first rounder on Johnny Football....too much on the downside.

But your team isn't desperate for a QB, a savior, a hometown kid, and an instant sales boost and jersey revenue.

Can JFF really be any worse than David Carr was?

Atlanta could grab him at 6 though, can't fall back too far

Yup, but you just need to get CLE or OAK to feel they need to get ahead of JAX to score :)

I don't know why people are even considering us picking Mathews @2. History is a big indicator in whats going to happen in this draft. 1. Either they'll be trading down or 2. drafting the DE clowney. Fisher has never and wont pick a OLman in the top 15. Not to mention we have Jake Long to deal with and you don't just throw him away, he started all 16 games and will be back next year and i'm betting he wont lose a step. Also, I'll add that you don't draft a LT at #2 and play him at RT or to fill in until J long gets better. Just stupid if you ask me. You draft to fill bigger holes which are, WR, Guard, and Safety/CB and draft a tackle in later rounds and hope you strike gold.

Nobody drafts S, CB or G at #2. Almost nobody drafts WR at #2. Almost nobody is able to trade down very far at #2 although if Manziel goes #1 then we'll get our chance.

Top 5 picks are for Quarterbacks, Pass Rushers and Tackles. And occasionally can't miss transcendent players

Is your concern that you are moving him from RT to LT, or that RT's aren't worth the #2 pick? If it is moving him, remember that Matthews was the RT for A&M up until this year because we had Joekel at LT. Matthews even played a few games back at RT this year due to injuries.

If it is the later and you think it is an overpay for a RT...might be right.

I understand that. My picks are based on the Rams trading down and in no particular order. WR's do get taken high in the draft btw. Here's just a few that you might recognize. Oh and thats just a few and I would bet anything that WR's have just as high of a % to succeed as QB's, Tackles, and DE's. Point is you never really know.

2011 4 A.J. Green Cincinnati Bengals Georgia
2007 2 Calvin Johnson Detroit Lions Georgia Tech
2005 3 Braylon Edwards Cleveland Browns Michigan
2004 3 Larry Fitzgerald Arizona Cardinals Pittsburgh
2003 2 Charles Rogers Detroit Lions Michigan State
2003 3 Andre Johnson Houston Texans Miami (Fla.)
2000 4 Peter Warrick Cincinnati Bengals Florida State
1996 1 Keyshawn Johnson New York Jets USC
1995 4 Michael Westbrook Washington Redskins Colorado
1992 4 Desmond Howard Washington Redskins Michigan
1984 1 Irving Fryar New England Patriots Nebraska
1984 4 Kenny Jackson Philadelphia Eagles Penn State
1980 2 Lam Jones New York Jets Texas
1979 5 Jerry Butler Buffalo Bills Clemson
1978 3 Wes Chandler New Orleans Saints Florida
1972 4 Ahmad Rashad St. Louis Cardinals Oregon
1971 4 J.D. Hill Buffalo Bills Arizona State

right, i think it's dumb to pay a RT that much money when you can pay a later draft pick much less and get "almost" as good play out of him.

There is actually a lot of data on this. Its not that WRs bust a lot in the first round anymore. Its that they hold their value better than any position (Keenan Allen going in Rd 3 will guarantee that trend will continue as we look at last year)

You're missing the big part of the story, though. All of this is moot if the Rams can trade down and stockpile picks :yahoo:

Or you can take Matthews and trade Long when he gets back to get more high picks next year. :yahoo:

Long has no trade value. I'm on the Matthews bandwagon but if we can trade down we absolutely are going to do it
