What are you nuts? Beasley was highly rated on many draft boards and was probably the consensus choice as the top pure pass rusher in that draft. So he was far from being some type of 20/20 hindsight selection. Like many Bear fans, I was thinking D as our pick for that season, like I usually do, and it was between him and Danny Shelton on my particular wish list. But as we all know the Bears brass was thinking offense all the way and specifically a WR at that, which was why I had Amari Cooper as a plan B, so to speak. And White was without question the consensus #2 rated receiver prior to the draft, so that when Cooper was taken by the Raiders, it was already a foregone conclusion that White would be our pick.

Pay little mind to BS.

It wasn't BS personally per se, I'm just not a fan of 20/20 hindsight analysis and predictions, so to be accused of such kinda irks me. I have a brother who is famous for making predictions after the fact, so my tolerance level is perhaps a touch lower than most.

As Beardown already implied.

You're really gonna love BS then. (sarcasm) lol

I wanted a healthy White. We needed a No.1 WR and went for it. It did not work out. Also I wanted Cooper, not White but I liked a WR pick early that draft.

Position doesn't matter? So you would take a punter?

The positions that are closest to the trenches are the most important then you fan out from there. Idiots still don't get this.
The positions that are empty are the most important. We really really really really really needed a WR in that draft. If healthy KW would have been a very good pick.

Empty? Yeah i meant don't field a WR at all (rolls eyes).

So draft a WR in the 5th, 6th, 7th rounds. What's the problem?

The problem is that late round WR's project as depth. As in - their ceiling is typically a "depth" 3rd or 4th WR.

We had an entire WR corp full of "depth" guys last season. One more of those wasn't exactly moving the needle. (Understatement of the year)

You mean last years group? You really need me to explain why that's a problem.

This dude came from a college that didn't run real passing plays.

And he's had barely any live time to learn how to do it.

Not a good mix.

As opposed to drafting a WR in the first round with a super high ceiling right? Oops we tried that.

Video gamers like yourself do not understand how football works. It's a very complicated sport and you simply don't get it.

What does this even mean? lol

Who suggested every early round WR pans out?

Have been since the mid-00's

Let's focus on Seattle

That was classic, but I think his hatred of Howard is worse. Howard has been our best offensive weapon ever since he joined the team. At the pace he’s going, he will have his spot amongst the best bears running backs of all time when it’s all said and done and BS would rather start Cohen. Talk about not knowing anything about football...

I agree, Howard has the potential to be the biggest hanging matzo ball over BS's posting career (which is really saying something). A couple more years of consistent production and it'll be official. 4-5 years of consistent, high-level production is more than you get out of 99% of RB's that come through the league.

One of the best things about Howard, is that he's only 23. If he stays healthy, we're going to get a great bang for our buck out of him. He could rack up 10K rushing in a Bears uniform without breaking much of a sweat. He's on pace to hit 5k in two years, when he'll be 25. So far, he seems durable. We'll see if that continues.

I guess the big elephant in the room - is how things will change in this new offense. How pass heavy will we be?
