Will he be reunited with his partner in crime to give the best AHL defensive pairing a shot on the big stage. I think so....

Who is he replacing?

Well, Tom Poti is done for a while with a broken eye that needs surgery. Alzner may play, he may not. The Caps already have John Erskie and Tyler Sloan on the roster but Sloane has been pretty bad thus far and Erskine has been off the ice for quite some time. Alzner played with Carlson for the past season and a half in Hershey and they have been a dynamic pairing, easily the best in the AHL, so he may be the best replacement for Poti, since Poti was playing with Carlson.

Poti, he got hit in the eye with a puck last night and is having eye surgury

That must suck getting hit with a puck in the eye. I can only imagine what kind of obstacles you must go through even after surgery.
