They fired Mangino because he supposedly said somethong along the lines of "if you wanna act like that during practice you can go back to the hood with your homeboys and act up, but it won't be tolerated here"

So of course Mangino, speaking the truth, gets called a "racist", and the school fired him. Go figure.

Our society is way too PC and that's why they fired him. mangino might have been a disgusting blob but he was a good coach that did very good things for that university and they pissed on him.

One of the stupidest moves by a college I have ever seen. Possibly second only to LA Tech rejecting their only bowl invitation a few years back. Fridgeon was a good coach winning ball games, how can you expect anyone to make a national contender out of Maryland?

It HAS to be more than this. Somebody there had it out for him. You don't make mountains out of molehills for the best coach in school history making you a ton of money over this.......something else happened behind closed doors nobody has spoke on is my belief.

Maybe he wasn't kissing enough booster ass or something.......
