I just heard this yesterday. His agent and the team have both said they would like an extension.

According to Vokoun, he doesn't know if there have been talks; he does say that there's definitely been nothing offered, so those "we'd like to extend him" comments could definitely just be Tallon making sure his trade value stays fair.

Vokoun's also currently being benched by the Panthers.

I'm all for shipping out Carle. He's a hell of a #2 on any team in the league, but that doesn't change the fact that he's the 5th best defenseman on the team. Besides, that $3.4+M cap hit could go to addressing other needs. (I can't think of one right now, but that's not the point.)

Honestly, if this team wanted to trade JvR for a goalie they should've done it during the summer after an his first season. Now he is starting to teat up up, but that apparentyl is ewual to a washed up goalie. We are first in the East (or close) right now and you can't fix what is not broken. JVR has helped get by these games and Vokoun...well no.

JVR for virtually anyone is a huge mistake. he's starting to really show flashes of a #2 overall pick and hes only 21..and we all know that power forwards take slightly longer to develop. and hes still very cheap and probably will be affordable for the next few years. he's going to develop into a perennial 30 goal guy..getting rid of him is just absurd especially considering his age

at first read i was gunna get on here to yell at you.. then i thought about it.. i guess maybe he is the 5th best d-man.. that's fuckin crazy

i think he makes pronger look good just as often as pronger makes him look good though, they are a good pair

This season = 1. Prongs, 2. Meszaros, 3. Timmo, 4. Carle

4 spot is arguable but yes, he has not been a top 2 dman this season. I still really like him but he is movable compared to most of our guys. Would trade for the right move.

Lol I think Our D is so strong that Carle/Coburn are fighting for #4.


Meszaros is having such a strong year that he is arguably our #2. Kimmo is just so good that I don't think his spot can be taken. Pronger can miss 75% of the season and still be #1
