Players trying to decide what team to go to in FA MIGHT consider it, but he looks like an idiot to GMs and fans.

That story has to be bullchit...if it's not, he's a great asset to every other team in the NFL, just not the Bears.

Honestly, I’m inclined to believe it’s bull shit or misleading in some way. The “better” offer might’ve been a 5th round pick with a conditional clause to bump it up to a 4th rounder.

On another note, he traded last years number 1 pick (Bryce Young) for this years number 1 pick (Caleb Williams), DJ Moore, Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, and a 2nd round pick next year. His drafting has been pretty good. I’ve been happy with his performance as a GM. I think the Bears are going to contend for the playoffs next year.

I’m entirely sure that some of this “interest” wasn’t concrete and changed after FA signings (i.e. Cousins) and the difference between other offers at the time of the trade was trivial. Like a straight-up fifth, or a sixth and next year’s seventh. It’s mush-speak and should be ignored.

And its still not the same regime......doesnt matter who did what, they are no longer here.......
Same as the Carolina gm that traded to no.1 last season,he left the Panthers a mess.....
They have new guys running that show now,so what happened in the past is not on the new guys.........
Same organization. Same bad decision making.

Does Bears fans really have faith in Caleb Williams? Do you really think he's an improvement over Fields?

Great trade for Pittsburgh. It gives them someone to turn to when Wilson starts shitting down his leg.

If a team loses their QB to injury.....the Steelers could flip either.

And have....what? 7-8 mill invested in their QB's?

If they are smart they trade down with Washington and take Daniels. Think he is better suited to start week 1 and they add draft picks.

Daniels is my QB1. The Bears could very well do that, but I think there's too much pressure for them to pick Williams.

It’ll be Caleb. I think Jaden goes 2 and someone will trade up for QB #3 with the Pats, imo.

It’s tough because Williams will probably be better at the other team than he would be in Chicago. (I basically see him the way I see the Dolphins today - flashy and explosive but weak-chinned and will fall apart when things get rough. And it’s always rough in Chicago.) Poles would have to get enough in return to make them legit contenders with average QB play or he’s gone. If he just takes Williams his job is probably safe for three years even if the Bears never make the playoffs.

So that’s probably what he’ll do.

I think he is right now. However, this will likely not be the case in a year or two. Chicago is where the careers of QBs go to die for the most part.

The Steelers are kinda putting together a concerted and smart offseason together despite poor positioning. Solid work.
They are definitely going to be much more competitive than they were last year... Their QB play was holding them back... Their running game should get a huge boost due to their new QB acquisitions...
