Well, the review embargo was finally lifted, and it doesn't look good. I'm seeing it on Thursday night, hoping for the best, but I really wanted to be blown away.

But it had to be expected. Zack Snyder delivered a Zack Snyder cut, meaning likely a overly dark and incoherent mess full of flashbacks and slow-fast motion action scenes. Joss Whedon was called in to salvage it, likely adding some fun scenes that don't fully blend in with the rest of the movie.

I loved Watchmen and 300, but things are just not working with Snyder at the helm.

Well... I saw it today, and I freaking loved it. It is fun and very enjoyable with great team dynamic. I think the critics are being too harsh with it. If there's one aspect I can criticize, it is a bit short and could have used a few more minutes for character development or for some of the supporting characters like Commissioner Gordon.

So Steppenwolf is not the deepest villain out there? I can name several equally bad Marvel villains in otherwise enjoyable movies (like Ronan).

BTW, Steppenwolf was too weak for a main villain. Wonder Woman alone stood a chance at beating him, so once Superman entered the fight it was an absolute no contest.

Just from the trailers, there's a bunch of scenes deleted from the final cut. They basically deleted the whole Cyborg introduction, probably because it is dark and they wanted a fun movie. They also deleted that scene where Alfred is talking to some mysterious person, but I'm pretty sure that's Superman, and that's how he finds our where to go to help the rest of the team.



Sadly they don't have a director for an extended cut. I'd love to see that.

It doesn't matter. It is dead and will lose a bunch of money (it will struggle to make even $200M domstic or$650M world wide) . It couldn't overcome BvS, and the (IMO unfair) harsh reviews were the last nail on the coffin.

Now we'll see where DC goes next, but I don't see them committing to anything beyond Wonder Woman sequels.

The villain was very weak. With Apocalypse it felt like there was no way to defeat him and with this guy it was just basically playing Patty cake until Superman treated him like a toy. Same old story in destroy the world. Character development was lame. Movie was short. Special effects were decent. They had a couple nice one liners and funny parts. I gave it a 5 out of ten. In comparison, wonder woman was an 8. Also, Ben Affleck was pathetic as Batman. The flash was wimpy. Wonder woman was outstanding again. If they make another movie it should be on another planet or dimension as Earth has become boring now.

Not a complete pile of shit like Batman v Superman but still pretty bad. Aquaman was a little too douchey, Wonder Woman is great and her movie was great, Barry was a little too much like Peter Parker for my taste, Cyborg was okay I guess, I'm glad Superman died and Lois Lane should have died in a car crash because both current iterations of those characters are ruined and poorly written. DC should have tried to start over with Gal Gadot as the leader of the team, this movie would have been far more successful.

They need someone who isn't Zach Snyder directing these movies. How many flops do you need before the studio loses faith in that guy? I have no doubt that the parts I actually liked (less than a handful of scenes) were reshoots. The plot makes no sense, even for a movie based on a freaking comic book.

Wonder Woman/ Gal Gadot is definitely a breath of fresh air. Hard to believe people were talking about her lack of ability when it comes to acting just a short while ago. If she can get rid of the accent we might see her career really take off.

Oh, and she's downright gorgeous.

I am not complaining about that at all, because it is pretty accurate... Superman fights toe to toe with darkseid, of course darkseid's minion is going to be weaker... And If it wasn't for superman, they would have lost that fight....

i agree with this post... another problem with the movie, it didn't explain the background stories well enough... Like, Steppenwolf mentioned Darkseid, but we were not really informed that there is a greater big bad...

I am not complaining about that at all, because it is pretty accurate... Superman fights toe to toe with darkseid, of course darkseid's minion is going to be weaker... And If it wasn't for superman, they would have lost that fight....

I can't say for certain for a fact that they would've lost. Still I was greatly disappointed in the movie. I went in really excited since Wonder Woman was pretty good. It used to be just making a superhero movie guaranteed success but not that there's literally 5 superhero movies a year and 10 or so TV shows about superheros it's become over saturated.
