Yeah your running low. Do you bow hunt?

I've taken it with me only a couple times. I don't want to miss one. I don't get to go that often and when I see one, I want to drop him.

I have an old Ben Pearson Cougar (recurve). 45 or 50#, I can't remember.

I own my own hunting area in upstate NY. I don't post my land, but don't allow people to put up deer stands or ride 4 wheelers around my place. If you shoot something, then by all means, drive out and get your kill. But you walk/hunt or don't bother asking.

My family takes about 4 deer a year. And the neighbors get at least that many or more off my place every season.

Season begins when the weather starts to cool down....end of September. Regardless of season, I always hunt with my 30-06 super-bow. It has a bad crack to it but works in all conditions.

I have real close friends that own a game ranch that we are able to hunt year round for land management. So the fear of running out of deer meat does not exist in my house. lol With that said, I am not a big fan of high fence game ranch hunting. So during deer season I hunt on the same deer lease in Junction, TX that I have been on for 15 years. I also hunt on a couple of other properties that belong to family. One in Bandera, TX and the other in Hico, TX.

Most of the time I bow hunt. I have a Mathews Reezen 7 and a Hoyt Carbon Element G3. The thrill of bow hunting is the best rush. Getting yourself right on top of a deer without them seeing, hearing or smelling you. Nothing gets the blood pumping more.

I'm pumped up to bow hunt this year. I started hunting last year and the adrenaline rush of having any deer walk out in front of you with any weapon is awesome. I'm excited for the chance to get that rack come walking through the woods in and putting the pin on him.

This buck, which may be a new world record, was shot some 7 miles from the land that my son and I lease

Good Lord man. A big buck here is 200 lbs and I have never seen a rack even close to that on anybody's wall around here. Damn.

Good beer too. Went up to Madison a few years ago and drank all kinds of good beer up there. Spotted Cow is the only one I remember by name though. I drank it most of the time I was there.

Last year I pulled a cow elk and a buck tag in CO. For two straight weeks of hunting hard, I had seen so many deer from the highway driving back and forth to my area it was sickening. I didn't get anything which was very disappointing after waiting some some to get tags from the lottery. This year I pulled a deer tag in CA. My in laws have 10 acres of land with several big black tail deer. Do you think I can hunt there? Hell no. Very disappointing. Either way, just glad I am getting out there to hunt.
