I remain very skeptical about this 'thorough' background check. I get what he brings to the table talent wise, and god knows we need the help, but I sure hope this locker room can handle this and it doesn't blow up in our faces.

Good....hopefully he'll have the same production he had with the Saints. This defense is shaping up to be a good unit, especially if we can get to the quarterback with consistency. I really hope this works out for the better of the team and not bite us in the ass like some previous free agents, but the past is the past and I'm looking for a better season under Scottie and Co.

Galette is a talented pass rusher, but has endured off-field troubles since signing a four-year contract with the New Orleans Saints last September worth $41.5 million. Despite producing 22 sacks over the past two seasons, the Saints cut Galette last week.

Those incidents included an arrest for simple battery with domestic violence in January. Charges were dropped in that case on Feb. 19, but the NFL is cracking down on domestic incidents and if its own internal investigation finds Galette at fault then he could face a suspension up to six games under the league’s new punishment scale.

That investigation is still ongoing, though the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported last month that Galette spoke in person with NFL officials in New York about the incident. Meanwhile, a YouTube video published on March 25, 2013 came to the attention of the Saints front office this past June.

Hey wait a minute. We were afraid of spending a low rd pick on La el Collins because he was MENTIONED not convicted in a murder case. Now we sign Galette which I am okay with his signing. But my point here is I thought we were so BIGGGGGG ON Character issues here.

I just really hope the due diligence on giving this guy a shot works in our favor. At least there is minimal financial risk and he's a proven talent.

I'm gonna have to just trust Scot and his sources on this one.
