Like Frost was a prototypical qb anyway.

Taylor's work ethic was never a problem, and hes grown into his leadership role well.. all that drama from his frosh year are forever and a day ago and forgotten

Also, itd be pretty hard for Nebraska to have a "better option" than one of the top 5 QBs in CFB next year

Anybody who says Taylor is lazy is so out of tune with what's going on I won't even listen to another word you say.

Don't just say shit just to say it. It's obnoxious. We are the most knowledgeable fanbase on this site ya little shit. You think you can slip shit by us and spout off assumptions without getting called out?

You continuously wreck your already horrible credibility, OD.

Just shut your stupid fuckin whore mouth. No one needs to hear dumbass remarks.

If anybody belongs back at disney, it's OD. That kid is the most fraudulent fan I've ever seen in my life. His SportsHoopla.com fan card has offically been revoked. Permanently.

I just don't see Martinez as one who puts in that super hard work. To me the guy seems like a drama queen. I remember hearing those stories about him walkiong into the locker room and calling his Dad or having his dad fight his battles for him with the coaches. Maybe I am wrong?

Also seems like Martinez is going to be a Senior and feels like his job is untouchable, well, it seems like that has been his ego all along, since he doesn't seem to be that great, yet he has never lost his starting job. Always has amazed me that Nebraska doesn't have a better QB in their program than him.

I seriously wanna hear the fuckin basis for these comments.

Seriously. Tell me where, in your expert opinion, Taylor Martinez is a lazy quarterback who is complacent and entitled.

Show me where the number one QB in production in the B1G in 2012 is lazy and complacent. Please.

Show me your facts.

Taylor Martinez (imo)

Positives

Fifth year senior, 3rd year in current offense.
Strives to improve as a player.
Not a quitter.
For an odd throwing motion, he's surprisingly accurate short to mid-range and puts big zip on the ball.
Taylor's got receivers he can trust that can actually catch the ball now. His receivers when he was an underclassman had a lot of drops.
When he's got open field, and nobody's got a good angle on him, it's a real good chance he's gone for 6.

Areas For Improvement

Lacks the deep ball. His receivers have to slow down (sometimes stop) and wait for the ball to get there. It's rare to catch one in stride. Probably throwing motion.
They didn't throw many deep balls last season. I don't know if it's Beck thinking he doesn't need it, or that he knows it's low percentage for completion and high risk for a turnover.

Does not throw accurately rolling left. It's a tough throw for anybody to begin with. You have to have your shoulders parallel to the line of scrimmage. I think his throwing motion prevents him from pulling it off.

Needs to improve on decision making which has resulted in costly turnovers. The quick-out pattern to the right for example.

Not one to make people miss. Takes big hits.

My Expectations

If Taylor improves from 2012-2013 at the same rate as he did from 2011-2012 he'll be a nightmare for DC's.

I don't expect improvement running. He's a sprinter and will burn some defenses, but making people miss and keeping yourself from getting clocked at the same time is a natural ability. 'Run Taylor Run'.
Practicing with his receivers on personal time.
Continued off-season work on his throwing mechanics. My expectations for meaningful improvement are pretty low here. See Tebow.
Spending a lot of time in the film-room this offseason. Particularly of UCLA, Michigan, Michigan St, Penn St.
Improvement on decision making. (film-room)
Less turnovers.

Well, if you call them out, you know what now, right? You have to wear the hat. When is Saturday, all eyes are going to be on you. You called them out, now lets see you step up.

Now, i do like a player calling others out. I don't care that is on twitter. It is now in the record books. Tommie Frazier wasn't scared of calling someone out, and not being that much liked, so what. hell, I was watching the Miami Nebraska 95 Orange Bowl and a DB got in Jason Peter's face in the first QT cause they weren't getting it done. Sometimes you got to stir shit up. If anything, I appreciate the fire.

Doing some back reading. Here is the deal with Mr. Martinez. The guy is awesome. Does he make mistakes, yes? But is he a quitter, or lazy? HELL NO! Watch the UGA game from last year. He took a pounding, and kept coming back for more. UGA players admitted that Taylor was the toughest guy they ever played against. He is not vocal, okay, so fucking what.

About the phone call. He got injured against Tejas Lite, and went to the locker room, his dad called him on the phone and he talked to him. Bo got a whim of it, and ripped him a new one on national TV. I blame Bo for that, cause he is the coach, recruits are watching and thinking, "no thanks, I don't want to play for this madman".

Taylor has set very, very high goals for himself, and he has worked extremely hard during the off season. For all the problems that our beautiful program may have, they do not start with Taylor Martinez, he is a plus not a con.

Taylor has never ONCE had to be carried off the field.

He has never ONCE pulled himself out of a game.

He has never ONCE laid on the ground after a big hit.

He is also widely known for his work ethic. For example when everyone was going on spring break partying, he was with his QB coach in cali working out and getting better every day.

He is one of the hardest workers on the team.

He's one of the toughest sons a bitches I've ever seen.

and lets add that in his sophomore season Taylor was getting booed, and ripped by the fans, and never once did he go crying about it. Dude has earned his placed as an all time great in Husker lore. I will miss him when he is done playing in the program, and his last game in Lincoln he should get a standing ovation, and have his number retired.

Nebraska doesn't retire 'numbers' anymore.
The only numbers retired are #60 Tom Novak, #64 Bob Brown, and #20 Johnny Rogers.

There are a slew of retired 'jerseys' and one must win a major award to be eligible.

Taylor will need to win either the Heisman, Davey O’Brien, Maxwell, Johnny Unitas, or Walter Camp to have his Jersey retired.

Yep.

A lot of people don't know that Tommie was actually feared and not well-liked by teammates earlier on in the 94 season.

It was after the team went into "can't be beat" mode that the players starting warming up to him calling everyone out. Now they all get along and they admit that it was his leadership that really jumpstarted that team to do what they did.

Frazier? for sure. Frost? No. Crouch? No. Martinez? Yes.

Negative sir

Frost won a title so he gets in before Taylor who won't win one. Crouch was qb before his time and didn't have much help. Taylor will have records n stats but no championship or national titles or awards at the end either. Doesn't mean he won't be a husker great but retires jersey no.

But he still has a year left to make history
