Vincent Jackson led the NFL in Yard Per Reception last year. He leads all active players in Yards Per Reception for his career.

Like I said, they're just missing a QB

So Vincent Jackson who hasn't done squat this year and who makes this a contender? Whiny ass Revis? Soft ass McCoy? The damn Hamster who can't pass protect or pass catch to save his life? I mean, you have a right to your opinion but I fail to see what you see. I tried to tell people to slow down thinking this team that was awful down the stretch last year would be a contender this year and I'll say again that this team that is awful this year has a lot of work to do if they will be a contender next year new QB or not. Schiano said recently that the Bucs were a laughing stock under Raheem Morris. The team was just bad under Morris, they are a laughing stock right now. But, no, they just need a QB.

They lost by one point on the road to a 3-2 Jets team, in large part because of a late hit out of bounds in the final seconds.

They lost by two points to a 5-0 Saints team after their kicker missed a game-changing 45 yd FG with a minute left.

They lost by three points to a 3-2 Cardinals team with a rookie mid rd QB who threw the game away in the 4th quarter.

That's 3 out of 4 games they very easily could have won. And they're doing this as their QBs complete less than half of their passes with a passer rating in the 50's.

Are they elite at every position on the field other than QB? No, but neither is any other team in the NFL. Their overall talent and level of play outside of that position has been strong

The QB hasn't been the problem, the HC has been. Fire Schiano and the team is infinitely better.

Awesome, 3 moral victories, 2 of them against teams that aren't very good. Even worse they lost to Arizona at home. The offense has looked pathetic. Not just at the QB position but the entire offense. The drops. The fact that the RBs aren't proficient in the passing game. The offensive scheme. They have been down right bad with 17 being their highest scoring output of the year. The defense has played well outside of New England and the last 2 minutes or so of each game. But it doesn't really matter what the numbers say if you can't hold a lead. As much shit as I've given Freeman, he left the field in 2 games with a lead. So please explain what's been strong? Who has been strong? I mean do they even have a single unit that has played solid for an entire game? Also, we always like to look at how many starts a team has and proclaim that they are good. But how much depth does the Bucs have? If any of those big named players go down, how much does production from that position drop off? From what I've seen, the Bucs have no depth at all.

I can only assume that you are a Bucs fan. I have to imagine that because I can't believe anyone else would be so blind to the massive holes on this team, starting at the very top with the owners to the low rent GM to the college head coach and on through the roster. It's going to get worse before it gets better. The people in charge just have no idea what they are doing and if you're thinking this team is going to be good any time soon you're setting yourself up for disappointment just like this year.

Firing Schiano won't completely fix the problems either. The Glazers need to fire Mark Dominik. They need to hire a real live football guy, not an accountant, to run football operations. They then need to empower that guy to hire a head coach because the Glazers have proven that they can't do it. Then that guy needs to fire Schiano and get his own guy. Together they need to start putting together a roster that actually fits together like a puzzle instead of this square peg team that Dominik put together

The offense sucks. That's what happens when you're ranked last in passing yards and second to last in passer rating (behind the Jags) in today's NFL. You can't win. The fact that their competitive speaks volumes about the rest of the roster

Maybe that's mean Schiano's fault, their cheap owner's fault, or Vincent Jackson 's fault for not being a good enough deep threat.. I tend to go with the logical issue of looking at the QB position when the OL, WRs, and running back position are all well above average in talent.

This was a team with two glaring weaknesses last season. Pass defense was one. They fixed that by spending money on Revis and Goldson. The other was inconsistent play at the QB position. That went from inconsistent to possibly the weakest in the NFL.

Could someone microanalyze the roster and find other deficiencies? Of course. Every team has them. Is the overall talent level very high. In my opinion it is. In your opinion it isn't. I don't see either side changing their mind

That statement might make more sense if your argument itself wasn't so flawed.

And before putting so much emphasis on their loss to Arizona, don't forget that your favorite team also lost to them. If not for some very untimely turnovers by their rookie QB playing his first game after 1 week of practice with the starters, not only do they win, but they hold the same team that scored 25 points on your team to 3 points.

Oh, and btw, almost everything you said above can be traced back to having the 2nd worst QB'ing play in the league.

They should switch back to the old school cream sickle unis. That's my 2 cents on Tampa. That and they have a poor fit at HC and invest in players that do not fit what they do.

Gilberry had a stop in Tampa under Schiano....called him a "joke" and said he runs the team like it were a High School.

The QB was a scapegoat. There are almost always more problems than just the QB. I see lots of problems starting at the top. We'll see how it shakes out.

I'm not saying that Detroit is a great team but even great teams have trouble winning NFL road games. I wasn't blasting Arizona, I think that they are a mediocre team and we lost to that mediocre team on the road, the Bucs lost to them at home. And Glennon got plenty of first team snaps in preseason. Schiano made sure of that. Local media and fans were questioning him non-stop about what the amount of snaps Glennon was getting meant for Freeman and he swore that Freeman didn't need the work. Of course Freeman was having an awful preseason and could have used more snaps than usual. Schiano didn't want Freeman to succeed, he wanted his guy and needed a way to dump a well liked player. So if Glennon wasn't ready to start then Schiano shouldn't have run Freeman off. Obviously he didn't handle the situation well!

I kind of like Bucco Bruce too!! And you hit the nail on the head. they went out and spent a bunch of money on guys who don't fit what they are trying to do because they don't know what they are doing.

I'm pretty sure putting a gay pirate on their helmet won't fix all of their issues.

But again, how is it that so many non-TB fans care about Tampa? I've never seen so much interest in a random team (that doesn't have Carson Palmer on it) on the Bengals SportsHoopla board.

I think the Head Coach is the scapegoat in the media, generally because he has an alienating personality. Freeman has a passer rating of 62 over his last 10 games. He was completing 50 percent of his passes over that stretch. As I stated in my earlier post, he was 4-11 with 16 tds and 21 INTs the year before Schiano go there.

Maybe Freeman needed a change of scenery, but he hasn't been playing well there. He deserved to get ebnch

This is very funny because it was well thought out but it is stupid because it lacks good sense. Good one.

Dalton's stats are much better than he is.

:wtf:

You're a moron, dude. You talk about advanced statistics, like they are the end-all-be-all, and now are saying that Dalton's stats are better than he is. Do yourself a favor, stop posting.
