But hard slides within reach of the bag is just good baseball imo.

I also don't have much issue with people fighting. So long as it isn't slap fights like basketball players. Or bench clearing whine matchups. Fight or don't fight.

I get the same feeling about Machado. I don't care if he hits 1000 homers and goes down as the best to ever play the game, I'll always remember him as the dude that threw a hissy fit about being tagged "too hard"
