Jordy is a top 10 receiver. Im wasting my life debating with people though (not you AZ-DBacks). Theres another thread where someone is saying Jordy is better then Calvin Johnson. PEOPLE!?

Is Randall Cobb?

I'd rather have him than Jordy.
I like Cobb but Jordy is just a bigger more physical receiver. I put Cobb in the top 15-20. They compliment each other nicely and form one of the best duos in the league.

So Im watching ESPNs top 100 players and was puzzled at TY Hilton making the top 40... but I really dont get Jordy Nelson in the top 20. Is he a very good player? DEFINITELY. I watched him rip my Eagles but top 20 player in the league. Thats the elite of the elite. We are talking the Revises, Shermans, JJ Watts, Aaron Rodgers type. I dont see Jordy Nelson as one of the top tier elite players in the league... or am I wrong?
I consider him an elite WR.

First, I'm not going to argue against your second point. Elite QBs always make their WRs look better than they are. If he consistently puts the ball exactly where it needs to be, any average WR can catch the ball and pick up some YAC. As for Jordy's ranking, he could be ranked 8th, 18th or 118th; all I know is I'm really glad he plays for the Packers.

As for the first point, this always puzzled me. In all my years of playing and watching football, it's always been the defense that adjusts to the offense. I know it's a well-known fact that Sherman only plays one side of the field, but if you want the best receiver facing the best CB, move the damn CB over there. What's Sherman's problem, anyway? Can he only rotate his hips well in one direction? Is he blind in one eye?

Besides, I'm sure I remember Nelson going up against Sherman in the playoff game.

That's not true. Football is about adjustments on both sides. Great defensive players dictate offensive gameplans by forcing the action away from them.

Yes I believe Jordy is better than Calvin. Megatron misses too many games with minor injuries while Nelson plays with minor hurts and is consistently productive.

Fair enough, but by not moving him around, you are creating mismatches. So you either risking making mistakes by moving him around, or getting exploited by not moving him. I'm not going to argue that what the Seahawks have done has been quite successful over recent years, but I still lay the blame for Sherman not ever covering Nelson in that first game on Seattle. Effective or not, it's part of the offenses responsibility to try and create mismatches. That's precisely what the Packers did.

Creating mismatches only counts if it works. Tipping your hand to create that mismatch can be counterproductive, especially when it pushes the offense out of their comfort zone.

Yeah, and Iverson is better then Jordan. Friggin guy put up 2000 yards on an inferior team. When Im a billionaire an buy an NFL franchise remind me not to hire you as my GM.

Think of it this way folks. If Jordy and Megatron were free agents who would all the GMs be salivating over?

Even if you were a billionaire (which seems absurd) I wouldn't work for you anyway. I'd rather work for someone with better working knowledge of the NFL.

Looking at Jordy bio I was a bit surprised to see he was 30 already.
The guy has flown under the radar for many years and is just now getting the credit he deserves.

Yeah, maybe you could convince your owner that Nelson is better then Megatron. Maybe you could say something like I know Jordy Nelson is older then Megatron and has 6109 yards and Megatron is younger but has 10405 yards in the same amount of games played.... but Jordys better.

Of course I could convince a knowledgeable owner of this.
