Even good/decent NFL QB's with bad OL's throw off of their back foot regularly.

Not making excuses. He almost never steps into his throws, but when he does god damn does it look good. Langs has tried his ass off to get the guy to do that consistently. There's no way in hell he hasn't.

I mean I remember looking at that tape, what, 4 or so years ago and saying "jesus he throws off of his back foot on every single pass"

Patrick O'Brien honestly is a dead ringer for Andrew Luck. I'm not saying he is, and he probably won't be, but god damn can that dude stand and deliver. Same height, same size, same build, same arm strength. Just maaaaybe not the same IQ.

I know a guy who also squares his shoulders with the line of scrimmage before he throws on a roll-out too.

It's more than stepping into your throw.

POB's obviously had good training.

Oh sweet jesus THIS.

You know who used to do that really well? Brooke Berringer.

Tommy plays scared honestly. That's why he throws off of his back foot. That's why he doesn't set his feet, not just on a roll-out, but a routine 3 step drop.

I'm not hating on the guy. Like Boyd said, he's got a shit OL and as you can see from his HS tape, he has been throwing like that since the day he touched a football.

I refuse to blame it on Langs or Riley that he makes poor decisions or bad throws.

I'm not blaming it on Langs or Riley either. I just pointed out that Tommy's never said he ignored personal technique training in practice. His statements are more of the lack of execution and making dumb decisions type of stuff.

I can't find where Tommy's had any technique training in practice. That's why I question his statements that were posted being about that.

I know who didn't. Tito

Fun fact, (that you might/probably know) when Mike Riley was OC at USC in the 90's, he pleaded with the HC to take a harder look at this guy named Tom out of San Mateo California. Riley loved him. Wanted so badly to get him on the team.

I assume you know the "Tom" I'm talking about.
