Jay Gruden says he knows his brother loves coaching, so I am starting the rumor now.

Bevell leaves at the end of the season for a HC job and Jon Gruden comes to Seattle to be O-Coordinator and he gets to coach RW.

Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden says his brother Jon has options - ESPN

I'll admit that Gruden has a huge man-crush on Wilson but no way in hell would he do that. It would basically be a demotion since he's a former (SB winning) head coach and he's making pretty good money working in front of the camera. Oh well, stranger things have happened though.

Gruden could basically take any HC opening he wants. If he returns, it will be as a HC.

Jon Gruden is overrated as a coach why is he a rookie QB counselor every year at the QB camps did he develop a really good QB in the NFL during his coaching days that I didnt hear about? Also that bucs team was already put together when he got there and after the superbowl went downhill, he will only go to a situation where all the parts were in place like the 49ers if harbaugh were to not be there next season

He seems to enjoy his job at ESPN too much to want to leave. At least that's what I've taken from his overall lack of interest in returning to coaching so far. His name seems to get brought up whenever there's a coaching vacancy and he hasn't jumped at any of those opportunities so far.

Besides... there are plenty of reasons why he'd want to stay where he is career-wise: The hours have to be a lot better, the stress level has to be much lower and the pay can't be too bad either. If you could be involved in the field of work that you love in a way that allowed you to cut down on your hours and your stress while still offering a decent paycheck, wouldn't you take that for as long as someone let you have it? I would. Coaching football, either at the college or the pro level, has become a 20/7/365 thing now.

I think there's a better chance of Frank Caliendo as Jon Gruden being our OC next year than the real Jon Gruden

He had the Raiders playing good football, something that hasn't happened since he left ...

I think Gruden stays in the booth. The life span as a coach in the NFL is short if you can't turn the franchise around in 3 to 4 yrs. Maybe Gruden gets a couple of more years just because of his name but it seems like it's 3 yrs to see progress or your fired. The only exception is Oakland, seems like they fire the HC every year.

Gruden only leaves the booth for a HC job. And my guess it's in college where his Harbaugh act is tolerated better.

I don't see Gruden ever coaching as long as he is in the booth. Pays better and much less stressful.
