John Thompson, Dead at 78

As a player, he was part of the Celtics team when they won the NBA Championship in 1965 and '66. After retiring, he got into coaching, eventually becoming head coach of the Georgetown Hoyas Men's Basketball team and guiding them to the NCAA Division I Men's National Championship in 1984.

He was very well respected by everyone in the basketball community. Did a lot of good for a lot of people.

Heckuva coach...but more importantly, and from what I've read about him, an even better person.

An all around Hall of Famer and class act.
