I don't care if anyone is offended by this, because it's decency. The most disgusting thing is running away. No excuse for the amount of force used. Women are not built like men. Even a scrawny nerd has thicker bones and would be able to take a blow to the head like that more easily. She did nothing which came close to or intended to cause lasting injury. He did, and he knew, and he saw her hit the table, and if all that had been it, any human decency at all should have kept him there. Like I said in another thread, this guy would run someone over while drunk and drive off. If I was offered his lifestyle I would turn it down if I had to be him. Seriously. That very easily could have been a deadly blow, if it landed in a slightly different place.
