Now is better than later when the camps are ramping up. This gives Gase 2 months prep before the camps start.

What else does he need to do? Maccagnan did all the heavy lifting with the draft and the free agent signings. All Gase has to do is worry about coaching

Organizing his staff, creating, modifying the playbook. Reviewing all of last year's films on key positions, etc.

He also has to get familiar with the GM role.

Again it goes back to everyone bitching when Gruden kicked the scouts out of the draft room.
Case most likely didn't like the GM after the first couple of months there and they can't fire him mid draft work.

I guess I don't understand how you think firing the GM now somehow gives Gase more time to prepare.

Either way, he had two months: before, it was to get ready to coach, now it's get ready to coach AND GM.

Jokes aside, you pretty much have to let a GM finish a draft and then bring in a new team and new scouts to start the next cycle. That is what all teams do. The free agency money though--wow.
