Jerome Simpson's Brother May be the Suspect

He isn't locked up, because they haven't filed formal charges yet. People don't file charges until they conclude their investigation and decide to file charges. Think back to the Big Ben r*pe case..... They didn't slap handcuffs on him the day the accusations surfaced. They waited until they could build a case - When the prosecutors decided a reasonable case couldn't be built (mostly because the woman didn't cooperate) they decided not to file charges.

In the case of Simpson - It doesn't matter when the charges are filed it just matters that they get it right. They are probably trying to establish to what degree the operation represented a distribution center and how big of an operation was being conducted. They are probably also trying to get all the other small fish to spill the beans. Jerome Simpson is a public figure - He's not going anywhere without being found. They'll file charges when they see fit.

As for Jerome's responsibility. If I allow my family to use my house for illegal activities, I carry the responsibility of their activities. Ask Michael Vick - It wasn't just his actions that got him thrown in the clink. He was ultimately held accountable for the entire operation - much of which was run when he wasn't around.

If you buy a condo and lease it to your brother and you are never there then I can see how Jerome would get off.....Thats like renting an apt if the owner of the apt doesnt know said drug dealer is dealing drugs why should the owner be charged???? regardless if its your brother or not....Just because he is a BROTHER doesnt automatically mean Jerome knows...Many family members hide shit from each other and ALL OF YOU know this shit.

Why is he starting???? Seems Lewis talks about him with some type of confidence or something he knows that no one else knows....If they charge him then charge him if not thab obviously he wasnt involved...and Jerome AINT BIG MONEY so its not like he is putting money in the feds hands to get off...Dont try that excuse either....

Again since SOME of us like to use the "Black Man" response so much if a BLACK man has drugs in his house HOW MANY WALK HOW MANY STAY OUT OF JAIL THIS LONG IF GUILTY????? Feds will take a BLACK MAN straight to jail along with his wifey, son, daughter, dog, parakeet, fish and any other living thing in that damn house to jail.....BUT IF HE REALLY DOESNT LIVE THERE and is leasing the place to a family member or not.....Maybe they cant lock him up! We will see how this plays out and if he doesnt go It will be interesting to read what some of you will have to say about it.....I GUARANTEE I HEAR SOME OF THIS:

1.The brother and the girlfriend took the fall
2.Jerome snitched and received immunity
3.He paid someone to drop the charges...

I think technically, although he didn't do anything morally wrong, he did break the law, and will have to pay for it somehow. Community service? Jail time? fines? It really depends on how the justice system plays out, but I don't see any way around it. My guess is there isn't any way around the issue of having technically broken the law. I didn't say it was fair, but the law is the law.

That scenario should be a little different than if your brother is staying in your house.

Be careful who you let live with you, you are expected to know what's going on in your own household. If you lease an apartment to a third party, then that is another thing altogether legally speaking.

But since he was a family member living in the house, which he legally owns, he is legally responsible for knowing what is going on . One of those laws, I'm not a lawyer, but this is just my basic understanding of it. If he is not considered responsible by the judge or whatever, then good.

There are other laws like that on the books, consider, if you are driving a car, and you have your seat belt on, but a passenger does not, then you get the ticket, not the passenger. fair? no. the law? yes.

Is his name on the papers for the house? If so, then he is responisble for what happens there as the "owner" of that property.

Like it or not...that's the law (or so it has been stated). The fact that he doesn't live there means absolutely nothing. Nothing. The only way it would matter is if his brother has a rental agreement with Jerome, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
