It's good to see Doug get promoted. I can't remember where I heard it, but either the Junkies or JP that said Kyle Smith got credit for a lot of moves that Doug made.

I remember Doug having to sneak Adrian Peterson into the building behind Bruce Allen's back. Good for him.

The Packers position would have been a promotion in a sense, because he would actually be running the team as it’s de-facto owner, and responsible for both the business and hiring the front office lead executive.

I don’t get the hate that the fans have for Wright here. The NFL basically forced Wright onto Snyder, and he had to carry his water and barring the Sean Taylor memorial debacles- which are probably the fault of Danny Boy to begin with- he did a great job leading the business side of the club. He also was up front with fans off-record that he barely even met Snyder, so that should tell you something too.

Hope Wright lands on his feet in a good role, especially after enduring that job for a little bit.

The fourth one is squarely on Tanya Snyder who designed them.

The others can probably be laid at Dan Snyder’s feet as well.

Wright really does get a bad rap sheet from the fans here, but I think on the business side he did a lot of good if you look away from the Dan-led and inspired stuff.

hey, maybe you know more than me, but I thought he was the biggest puppet in this organization and that is saying something.

The NFL basically forced Wright onto Snyder after the entire Bruce Allen debacle. A friend of mine who used to work game days said that Wright was pretty clear off the record that he barely ever met Snyder, and it was only a handful of times. Wright was extremely well-regarded in league circles due to his time as a player and time at McKinsey and Company.

You look at what he was responsible for in the front office, and the gameday experience got markedly better. The season ticket staff is extremely responsive and they added a completely new rewards program which is pretty good for an NFL team. He was brought in to give a facelift to the business side, and I think he did that.

It’s hard to judge Some of the things- specifically the Sean Taylor appreciation and the mannequin because you just don’t know if that was a Snyder thing or not- but he was clearly much, much better at this than Bruce Allen, and he brought in some respectable talent to head up their departments and deal with the fans on a one-on-one basis better.

fair point but it didn't bother you on how he handled the name change? Or the marketing of the new name change? The colors on the new uniforms being way off. Or was this all Synder?

Again, not sure we have enough information to know how much was on Snyder, and how much was on Wright as the president. The one thing I can say is that the uniforms, including logo and color, were Tanya Snyder. Everyone was clear that with her background, she designed the uniforms.

The marketing piece is the one that we can absolutely say is on Wright and the marketing department, but again, what are the parameters on this that were set by Snyder? And, how much of the name change was also driven by Rivera, who was also out in front of that? Rivera seemed to have a lot of say in some of these things, especially early on before Wright was hired.

Also, if Harris was truly displeased with how Wright was doing his job beforehand, I don’t think he would’ve been allowed to continue past Rivera, if not fired before Rivera, because the football side is different from the business side. But, Harris is letting Wright finish the year and it does seem like he is going to be involved in the process to hire and onboarding his replacement. So like Eugene Chen, this sounds pretty amicable, and is a fresh change from how this would’ve been handled by the previous owner.

My son could have spotted the wrong years on the crest. At what point does the team President step in a let someone, anyone know that what they put together for Sean should not be sold to the fans as a statue reveal. It was insulting.

Taking pictures of the Taylor family in front of Porta-Potties.

Pretending we had a say in the name.

Just not a fan.
