Any rumors on where he might sign? I would love to see if he is willing to take a 1 year deal at $5-6M. Would allow us to cut Clemons and save some cash and likely upgrade the position. Allen is about 7 months younger and coming off an 11.5 sack season with absolutely no help on that defense. I think he'd be good for 8-10 sacks for us and he brings the great leadership we lose with Bryant heading to the Bucs.

I know there were rumors that Seattle was trying to work out a trade last year. Allen's first demand I believe is to go to a contender. What better place than Seattle who boasts the #1 D in the league and that stadium. Allen would have a field day.

Allen/Bennett/Mebane/Avril..... *drooling* Good luck opponents.

Wow. I guess that Broncos talk was before Ware's status was made official.

Lord. We get Allen on a 1 year / 2nd optional type of deal would be freaking huge.

He wants something like $8 million a year though. Broncos wanted him for around $5 million but he thought that was a ridiculous offer

According to overthecap, if the Seahawks cut Chris Clemons we will save $7.5m. Jared Allen is still a very good player, just on the wrong side of 30.

DeMarcus Ware and Julius Peppers are also interesting DE options. If the Seahawks added Allen, Ware or Peppers our defensive line would be ridiculously good going into 2014.

I think they can get any of those 3 and be in a better cap situation then they are with Clem's current cap hit. I think Allen and Ware are 32 and Peppers is 34. Allen is probably the more intriguing one of the three given his consistency. You can always give a 3 year deal where the cap hit is back loaded and cut him after 2 years.

Jason Hatcher won't be too bad either. He can play both DE and DT. He had 11 sacks last year.

Hatcher is an underrated player who played extremely well on a terrible defense. I think landing him would be a serious upgrade for the defensive line. Hatcher is not just a 1 year wonder either, in 2012 he had 5 sacks, 51 tackles and 29 QB pressures (2nd in the NFL among interior linemen).

The Seahawks have a lot of attractive options for the defensive line. Would be nice if the same could be said of the offensive line.

DeMarcus Ware would be #1 on my fantasy wish list. I think...when healthy...he is hands down the best pass rusher in the game. No one has his combination of size, speed, and strength.

Of course the injury and age is a concern but on a one year deal...what better place to showcase your talents and put yourself in a great position to get a big contract the following year than to play on the Seahawks defense. As a Seahawk he won't be utilized 80-90 % of the snaps like Dallas did. We would be able to rotate him in and keep him fresher during the season reducing chance of injury

Jared Allen would be #2 on my wish list followed by Randy Stark (DT) and if we can get him for a reasonable cheap price I wouldn't mind Brandon Lafell (6'3 big wr that runs a 4.5)

Man if you could throw out a Dline of Avril, Bennett, Hatcher and Allen on passing downs that would be crazy. I think if they cut Clem, Miller and let Tate walk there may be room for that. Add Jermichael Finley to a cheap deal who is also visiting.

Mmmm, don't think Finley is near as good a blocker as Miller though and we use our TEs to block often. McCoy is a decent blocker though, but I could see Miller re-structuring and stickin around one year.

One of the nice side-effects of your team winning a championship or at least being in serious contention for one a few years in a row is that big name players have a genuine interest in coming here that doesn't involve getting the biggest payday they can or, at the very least, the chances of them coming here for something other than a big payday no longer seem unrealistic.

Last I heard he said he wants $8 million a year or is willing to sit out the season if he has to.

I could live with a 2 year $14M deal for Allen. Front load a bit this year. Still saves money with Clemons and IMO we get a better player.
