Ramsey was due $17M in 2023 with $12.5M of his salary fully guaranteed. He was due $18.5M and $19.5M in the following 2 seasons, none of which was guaranteed. The Dolphins are apparently fully guaranteeing the 2023 and 2024 money plus they're giving him a small pay rise over those 2 seasons. In that light it would make sense for the trade compensation to be lower than anticipated.

Hunter Long was a 3rd rounder. Be interesting to see what we do with him

Dolphins better sign Brady by the time of training camp.

Roster is too talented to depend on Tua not getting another concussion that could be a career ender.

Crazy how little return they got for a guy who is still one of the top 15 defensive players in the league and easily projects to stay in that range for a couple more seasons.

Been so long since the Rams had a 1st round draft pick that they appear to be trying to make next years pick really count.

I can't be mad at the Rams for sending a player where he wanted to go. It's unfortunate they couldn't get more. But not every situation is the same. We just have to wait to see how TE Long, and the third rounder develops. We officially turned the page on a new chapter

Rams receive the #69 pick, giggity, 69, giggity.

Last time the Rams had the #69 pick, they chose Cooper Triple Crown King Kupp

Ouch! That's more money than expected. That explains the #77 pick.

And people thought he would go for more than a 1st. There was only five teams interested, he was going to the NFC and you had to give him his money.

I don’t think anyone realistically thought he would fetch a 1st.

But at least a 2nd.

The fact it’s a late round 3rd is crazy.

Seems like a salary dump move and the Rams know they aren't competing and are rebuilding so it would be waste to have him on the team and paying him a bunch of money. I heard they are also taking calls for Mathew Stafford. Man that franchise really invested everything they had into that super bowl.

Wagner and Floyd leaving because they were due more than their worth to the team isn't a surprise. Both are still good players, but money talks. With those 2 leaving it's probably better to throw all the major resources at the offense in an effort to outscore opponents. I don't think there's any value in trying to be #20-24 on both sides of the ball. Trading Ramsey makes sense because the rest of the defense can't benefit from his 'near elite' play. WR Robinson will also be leaving with the Rams paying a chunk of his salary to facilitate a move.

It's very difficult to trade either Stafford and Donald because both would accelerate dead money totals into 2023 that the Rams would struggle to absorb. The plan is to take the punishment in 2023 and have a final push with those 2 players in 2024.

I wonder how Donald feels now. He can't be happy about playing for a team that isn't all in. What do you Rams guys think about it?

From afar, it felt like he mailed it in last year going through the motions. The Rams decision to potentially blow it up and build for the future in part probably stems in part from his age and his buy-in.

Fair question. We won't really know the answer until October. Maybe he plays lights out and maybe he goes through the motions.

It's a tread water season unless the Rams fix the offense, and that starts with the O-Line. The LG will move on, the RG/#2C has opted to void his contract, plus the LT, C, and best 2 back-ups are returning from injuries. A 4 or 5 win season is my early projection.

Only a 3rd for Ramsey is fairly telling.

That said, the NFC keeps sending its players over to the AFC. This is getting out of hand
Now they're saying Jimmy G is going to sign with the Raiders. As a divisional opponent I love this move.

It's like getting Derek Carr + a history of getting hurt every time his team starts gaining momentum.
