the best part is that jagr wasnt even happy with how he played tonight. if he's not happy with a goal and an assist and his teammates praise tonight, then i cant wait to see when hes pleased with his game..

I think Jagr may surprise a lot of people this coming season. I mean look at what Teemu Selanne did in Anaheim last season at age 40? The guy had 80 fucking points!! And he is going to play again this season at age 41!

Jagr will turn 40 in February and has the same elite level of talent/skill that Selanne does. These guys have both been around forever and are still forces to be reckoned with. There's no reason to think that Jagr can't put up 60-70 points or perhaps surprise all of us with more. He's certainly going to get plenty of power play opportunities and be surrounded by talent.

The last time Jagr suited up in the Nhl ('07-'08), he led the Rangers' anemic offense in scoring with 25 goals and 71 points all while they had one of the worst offenses in the conference (tied for 23rd in the Nhl).

Read's making a strong case to stay on the team as well wonder how he'll shake out? I think the top two lines are a lock but that third line could either be a little more defensive oriented or they could keep Couturier or Reid and add some offense to it. I think Talbot would be at his best on the 4th line with Betts....those two could suck the life out of any other teams top line!

Well, I didn't get to watch the game, but according to espn, he was playing with Couturier/JvR on his assist and Hartnell/Read on his goal.

Whoever it was it obviously works. This makes me so excited.

Read >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Shelley. It is simple science. Id rather go with a a 3rd of Simmonds-Schenn-Read and a 4th of Talbot-Betts-Nodl than a 3rd of Simmonds-Schen-Nodl and a 4th of Tablot-Betts-Shelley.

jagr was supposed to be playing with jvr and schenn.. the lines got a little mixed up on the goals though haha

and i agree w/ you guys about having read on the third line with schenn and simmonds.. 3 of the best performers in the preseason so far too.. to be honest though i think simmonds is going to give hartnell a run for his money on the 2nd line

None of them had a shot at making this team while healthy anyway.

EDIT: Looking back at my lines, no fucking way should Schenn being centering the 1st.

Agreed better to ease him into the lineup on the 3rd line and take advantage of some mismatches. He'll do well with Simmonds on his line.

No one should rule out Couturier either he's been looking good and the team may decide that he's above junior hockey at this point. I believe he can play 20 games in the NHL before they'd have to make a decision...too bad he couldn't play in the AHL this year. They may just go with Reid since he can bump back and forth...I guess we'll see.

its 10 i think, and i bet he plays those 10.. so they can see how he does against regular season nhl teams.. but i dont think he's good enough or mature enough to handle a full NHL season.. i wish he could play in the AHL also, i think thats where he should be.. but unfortunately he cant play there..

IMO there's no reason to throw him in to an NHL role right now.. read has earned a spot on the NHL squad and i think he'll take the only spot couturier could compete for.. but i do think he'll play the 10 he's allowed so he can get some experience and know what he's up against
