Maybe now that they've come to an agreement w/ Kenendy, Jagr just doesn't fit in the picture cap-wise.

Surely he is not the best player in the league as he was at one point. It is still a decent risk reward as far as we are concerned for 2 mil. I dont think you are going to convince any of us otherwise.

Bumping this to prove a point

There was no valid point that i read in this thread period! Oh, except Pen's fan's are pretty bitter that Jagr didn't want to play for them!

Woah, let's clarify. Jagr didn't want to play for $2 million. I don't think the team mattered to him at all.

That is my point. Apparently some Flyers fans think he turned down the Pens as a team and not due to the money. He sought out the Pens, not the other way around.

Because it's fun to look back on stuff a little later on. Took a look at some posts in this thread today. Very interesting.

So, Ray Shero has generally been considered a great GM (and I agree with that consensus), but was his handling of the Jagr deal a major botch? I gotta say yes.

Jagr is on pace for something like 25-30G and 40-50A this year. If they had offered him even like $3mil, it probably would have gotten done but Shero held firm at $2mil and would not negotiate. $3mil seems like a steal now.

I can't imagine how scary the Pens would be if they had Jagr and a returning Crosby on top of what they are doing without either.

Jagr is not great playing with great players at this stage in his life, he is great playing with Claude "Curly headed Jesus" Giroux. Duh.
