Is there a WGAS/WAGF roster or is it just the practice squad?

The bad news is he blows. Profootballfocus graded him out as worse than Mike McGlynn last season.

He also played beside some terrible players on an all together terrible line. If I remember correctly he was a pretty good OG before last season.

I wouldn't say pretty good. I think he's better than last year, but he's not the solution either.

If this was the movie 'Major League' it soinds like the type of guy they'd put on their roster....'This guy's dead...well scratch him off the list'

He was a pretty good OG. He was a good player in Tennessee when he played there with some other good players around him. I like this signing but only if it doesn't deter us from taking an OG if available in the 1st.

I mean he could be good (I',m gonna be honest...I have no friggin clue who the guy is). But if you buy into free markets at all if he was any good why would he still be available? And why was he so cheap (I'm assuming he signed on the cheap, right?)

He was bad because he was surrounded by crap in St. Louis. Honestly that might have been the worst line in the league.

We'll see...I'm sensing the second coming of Mike McGlynn but who knows. If he does just turn out to be a total scrub it's not like they made a huge investment. I'm guessing this guy signed for damn near the minimum.

Didn't hear the money, but it was a one year deal.

Pro Football Focus graded him at -15.8 overall with a run blocking score of -11.0 in 2011. However his grade was slightly better before then, scoring a 4.6 in 2010 and a 4.5 from 2009. Comparatively speaking Mike McGlynn scored a -9.0 and Nate Livings a -13.3 in 2011.

Jacob Bell is in the fold!!! Hobson is going to write a gem about how this guy was one of the most coveted FA guards when he signed with St. Louis several years ago. Hudson, Wharton, Boiling, Bell. I know I'm excited.

In all honesty, if this move is to build line depth, I'm all for it. If we were to get one of the two top guards in the first round and then only had to count on one of the many cast-offs or unproven rookie guys to play the other position, I'd feel pretty good about our chances. Sadly, I'm afraid that all of these moves suggest that the Bengals are still going to be unwilling to invest an early draft pick on an interior linemen.

I honestly do not know how anyone can be worse than Livings and McGlynn were. I think half the people on this board at 6'0" 185 pounds would make better NFL guards than those two. I honestly think, ANYONE else other than those two are an upgrade. Boling and Hudson would both be upgrades over those knuckleheads.

They are the guard versions of Eric Ghiaciuc. They were/are/always will be horrendous. Not saying I wouldn't mind an upgrade there, but one thing this team is doing, is they are allowing themselves the opporunity to draft best available player when it is their turn rather than drafting to specific need.

I absolutely would love the draft that Solomon Wilcots think the Bengals could do, but I don't see either guy available....

#21 CB Gilmore

Talk about solidfying our secondary, AND with the remaining guys in FA or our 2nd round draft pick, we could select a WR (say Mohamed Sanu), and 3rd round take another project guard that can get his feet wet in the league for a year behind a couple of these guys on the line and eventually work his way into the starting lineup.

Those first two picks would scream A+ in the draft to me.
