35 points for 600 grand this season is a good UFA signing. He got more than double for next year. Yet at 1.25 million it's still a great deal for the Islanders.

After Next year the following players will be UFA's:

Frans Neilson 525 grand
Milan Jurcina 1.6 million
Mark Eaton 2.5 million
Mike Mottau 950 grand
P.A. Parenteau 1.25 million
Brendan Witt comes off the books 833 grand

So that's 7.533 million coming off the books from those players alone next year.
