The Royals and Giants, both wild card teams, ranked 16th and 18th in OBP, 14th and 12th in Runs, 4th and 10th in BA, and 19th and 13th in SLG, respectively. And get this. 19th and 21st in ERA. Both teams suck.

Both teams have managed to pitch well when it was most needed. Get hot in the post-season and anybody can win it all!

This year, I have not watched one world series game. Even though both teams weren't expected to be in the series, I think after this season with the Phillies insanity I sorted of lost by motivation especially with football, basketball, and hockey all in full swing.

One mid reliever or injured catcher can swing almost every playoff series this year...

yeah, its probably a down year but the Giants should get the benefit of the doubt and the Royals could get the benefit of the doubt if they make the postseason a few more times

You are right about the Giants. They are making a habit of being part of the world series!

I'm surprised by the ratings 'cause this is the first World Series that didn't include the Tigers that I've watched every game of. And I've enjoyed it.

Pretty enjoyable series.

If one is a Phils fan.... ya may want to have a 'second rooting interest' for a few years. They really need to blow up that team and start over.... age has certainly caught up with them.

I rarely watch the playoffs real closely if the Phillies are not in it, but from what I've seen this looks like a good series. I think baseball is more of a regional sport than other sports, especially football. Sometimes I pick a favorite, sometimes I just forget about baseball til the next season. I think I'm on the KC bandwagon this year though. 30 years is a long drought.

Despite the stats, these wildcard teams peaked at the right time and knocked off a bunch of very good teams in the playoffs, KC going 8-0 and SF 8-2. That was enough to motivate me. KC finally arrived after almost 30 years. The Bumgardner - Shields matchups are worth seeing plus there's former Phillie Pence. Hey, we may even get to see Jayson Nix or Eric the Kratz at the plate in the bottom of the 9th in one of the games.

Bumgarner awesome again, 5-0. Royals backs against the wall with Giants leading 3-2 going to KC. Pence 9/19, .473 in the series. Down 2-0 in the 8th, J. Nix flies out on a 3-1 pitch.

At the time, you did get a nice haul for him. Hasn't panned out the way the Phils hoped, though.

Speaking of which, I know ToJo has had some injury issues, but is he still considered a prospect, or is he pretty much considered done?

The Bumgardner - Shields matchups are worth seeing
AKA the Hammer vs Nail matchup.

Bumgardner is kinda like Ortiz last year. Just a man on a mission to win a championship

I thought he was overrated when they got him. Then I realized he was like 19 years old at the time. Considering he is still only 22 he still has potential.
