Cotton Bowl?

If not for Johnny Football, I'd say, "I hope so!"

I don't want to play against Manziel. I don't care what anybody says about him, he's the MVP and best player in college football.

I'd rather just let him go on by, be on his way.

TEXAS hater has probably never watched a Texas game all season.

Even the AGGIES and SOONERS freely admit Texas has arguably the best Defensive Line in Football.

It doesn't mean they have the best defense in football.
It means they have the best D-line arguably.

There are 4 guys on the Texas line that will play on Sundays.

Two of them will likely by first round picks in the next few drafts.

I am a little worried about Whaley. That injury could really screw things up.....

Hopefully he is okay.

It would suck to be missing the best offensive player and best defensive player for the Pokes game.

But Texas has a spectacular defensive line.

OSU has 4 guys (Spence, Bosa, Washington, Schutt) who will likely be playing Sundays and Spence and Bosa will also likely be 1st round picks. Big fucking deal. When your run defense gets shredded like Texas' has several times this year, you don't have a lot of bragging rights about your defensive line.

A&M is certainly a step above Tejas right now and it looks like Baylor may be above them as well.

I will give UT credit for at least righting the ship a bit. I still think they need to fire Mack, but at least it hasn't been a huge embarrassing failure of a year like it started out to be.

#1 quarterback - gone
best running back - gone today
best linebacker - gone
best defensive lineman - gone today

The WVU game really put a hurting on the Texas depth.
It was the most costly win of the season.

It will be an interesting thing to see how Mack adapts around this latest round of injuries.

The last time Texas had as many key players outs (Ole Miss game) they got beat pretty badly.
These injuries might be worse than the Ole Miss game.

There is some quality depth at RB.
Brown can fill in to a degree.

The defensive line is very good and has reasonable depth, but it still sucks to lose the best player (maybe) on the line.

The backup QB has been up and down.
Case looks great at times but stinks at times (ole miss, isu) as all backup quarterbacks tend to do.

Linebacking is a lost cause.
Without Hicks, you just pray they don't screw it up.

If Mack can miraculously win the Big 12 without these players, he might win Big 12 COY.

You're going to have injuries, it's just the way the game is. As you point out, we have good rb's. A loss, but it's not huge. McCoy is hot and cold, but so was Ash. They are about the same. We might have lost a little speed at qb, but not a huge loss. Losing Hicks, yes a big loss. The Defensive line is strong.

Injuries are never welcomed, but our injuries aren't as devastating as they could be.

Trust me, Mack will not win "coach of the year!" Please don't let time erase that "2" on our record. The last 3 games have been against teams that aren't very good this year. The overwhelming odds say that we will lose at least one of the last three and maybe two. Another 9-3 or 8-4 season in Austin and off to the Holiday bowl.

Signed,

Frustrated

P.S. I'm sorry, I'm letting Mack get away with any excuses after our start this season.

If, and this is a big if longshot....

If Mack runs the table and beats Baylor at Baylor, he should and will win BIG 12 COY.

That would arguably be his most impressive coaching effort in a long while.

He has literally had to deal with more distractions that at any point in his career.

Nick Saban has to release press statements suggesting he is NOT going to Texas.

The coaching environment has never been more hostile.

It would be a very commendable coaching job if Mack salvages a Big 12 run.

I think Texas probably loses 1 or 2 more games.

But, if Mack gets them 10-2 (9-0 in the Big 12), he will win BIG 12 COACH of the YEAR.

That would be impossible to conceive after the dreadful start to the season.

No doubt that would be a huge accomplishment by Brown and he should be commended but he should take that opportunity to end on a high note. It doesn't pay to hang on too long and that has been proven time and time again.

I hope he leaves while the Texas nation still holds him in high esteem and doesn't let pride eventually erode that.

If Texas wins out, Mack will be Big 12 troll of the year. The Big 12 will not reward a guy for embarassing the Big 12 by going undefeated in Big 12 play but getting your butt whipped by BYU and OM. The only possible way Brown gets Big 12 coach of the year is if he has Texas in the national title hunt like any decent coach would do at Texas. Brown failed to do that. Again

got to go

1: Baylor 1A: Texas A&M
2: Texas

It really should go:

1. Baylor

2a. Texas
2b. Aggy

Aggy's defense is one of, if not the worst in the state of Texas and in the country. That alone makes them tied with Texas b/c we could score all day on their D, but Aggy would also score all day on our D. It would be a shootout, IMO....
