Kickers might be more valuable to a team's success than most fans would like to believe, but there's no serious argument for an MVP candidacy here.

Seriously!!! This guy is 100% on field goals this season, KILLING extra points with that added yardage difficulty, no blocks..

AND, his team is UNDEFEATED! Pats are a HUGE reason if not the only reason they are 7-0! Guy put the team on his back against HUGE division rival games in New York and Buffalo!

Stephen for MVP candidate easily! SCAM Newton and ARSON Palmer! Ha! Let's crown the guys who are really winning the games!
I can get on board with this. Hell, our kicker hurt us in our two losses this year. If not for the kicker, they aren't undefeated.

They only played 9 games that year, did away with the divisions, and made it a tournament type format with the 8 teams who had the best records in the NFC and AFC getting into the playoffs.

Part of me wishes they could go back to this. Seems like recently we have had a rash of bad teams playing in bad divisions make it over somebody I would consider more deserving. Such as we have had 2 7-9 teams and an 8-8 team make the playoffs over 10 win teams.

Two wild card teams per conference was perfect. They played week one while the division winners began on week two. $$$ fucks up everything.

That still doesn't eliminate the possibility of a team with an under .500 record. Or a record worse than a second team in a different division from getting in.

This ^^^^^^^ rings very true.

Having a great kicker is preferred, but having a good kicker is mandatory in today's NFL.

How about we wait for his diaper rash to clear up first. He's been kicking for 4 years and might I add none in a big game at the NFL level.

Why NFL teams don't spend more first round picks on kickers is beyond me. Gostkowski is right up there with Cam Newton and Peyton Manning for MVP consideration.
