to me.
Barry Bonds was the best.

shame he had to taint it with PEDs.

Not sure he would have been GOAT but I agree with the statement...

Homer!

He was on my list too. But Gehrig has to be on the list, he was a freak.

.340 career average

He was the "Iron Horse" for a reason. 2,130 games consecutive games record for 56 yrs till Ripken beat it.
A record 23 career grand slams.
He owns basically every record for a 1st basemen.
2-time MVP and 1-time Triple Crown winner

He drove in 150+ RBI's 7 times!!! 7!

The act from tygerphan4ever is very tired. He's taking a day off and when he comes back he'll be restricted to team boards, which is little consolation for fellow fans of his. My guess is he creates an alt, in which case it's permaban.

We're all sick of this bullshit. He's either under the influence or mentally ill and we don't need either here.

Thank you!!

Been ruining the Central Smack talk thread posting 8 posts in a row of nonsense. Wasn't even nice enough to spell words properly.

Wasn't one to complain so glad to see others were pissed off.

On topic. Miggy is definitely the best right now, not even close.

He wasn't the best with PED's. I could name about ten others better.

Ok, go ahead

Other players that might dispute this by team:

Baltimore/ St.louis Browns George Sisler
Boston Ted Williams Jimmie Foxx
New York Babe Ruth Lou Gehrig Joe DiMaggio Mickey Mantle
Chicago Frank Thomas Joe Jackson
Detroit Ty Cobb Hank Greenberg
Kansas City George Brett
Minnesota Rod Carew
Oakland Nap Lajoie
Seattle Ichiro
Atlanta Hank Aaron
Chicago Ernie Banks Cap Anson
Cincinnati Pete Rose
Pittsburgh Roberto Clemente Honus Wagner Lloyd Waner Arky Vaughn
St. Louis Albert Pujols Stan Musial Rogers Hornsby
San Diego Tony Gwynn
San Francisco Willie Mays Barry Bonds

Not saying that all these players are better then Miggy, but they are all up there.

Um, did you maybe mean his brother Paul? Neither was as good a hitter as Cabrera, but Paul was much better than Lloyd.

I only remember him making one or two posts on the local boards. But I'm starting to think ESPN must have been an odd place to post. The ex-ESPN guys seem to have brought a lot of anger and aggression. And a lot of accusing posters of being posters that other posters didn't like the posts of. Yaz, Willie Mays, Ichiro, Barry Bonds, Josh Gibson...

ESPN was troll central, alot of frustration was had there

Cabrera is definitely the best hitter in the game right now...by far

But are we already forgetting how great Pujols was?

1000 + ops in 8 different seasons...955 + ops his first 10 years

...compared to Cabrera who has 3 total 1000 + ops seasons and 5 total seasons of 955 + ops

Pujols also hit for more power (Pujols 6 seasons 40 + hr, Cabrera 1...on pace for 2), drew more walks and struck out less (Pujols 0 seasons with 100 ks, only one with 80 + ks...Cabrera 6 seasons with 100 + ks, 10 seasons with 80 + ks)

Also...can't believe someone mentioned Seattle and listed Ichiro instead of Griffey or Edgar

Ichiro was very good avg hitter but that's all he really was...a contact hitter. As an all around hitter...Edgar Martinez is better than Ichiro...Griffey is better...even young Arod was better

Cabrera is an incredible hitter...because he is very slow footed...you know that his high avg aren't cheap hits...they're all hits from his bat

Ichrio...you can say 1/5 of his hits were generated by his speed...so if you're evaluating just pure hitting...Ichiro shouldn't really be mentioned with these guys who are all around hitters

Wtf? He is not in the discussion. Make a thread about best steroid hitters and he tops the list.

The fact Ty Cobb is not on everyones list is amazing...He has the highest career batting average ever.. In a 22 yr career. Honus Wagner too... Career .328 BA

Cobb also second most hits all time... Rose only took the hit title from him by playing two more years.

A hit is a hit bro... I don't take points away for speed.
