Is Michigan at the point that it is going to be looking for a new coach?

Seriously, you're Michigan. How can you just lay down and accept the crap Hoke is serving up? You luck into a BCS win in year 1, but then once things start to get difficult you guys are folding. Clearly this guy isn't on the level needed to be successful. Who does Michigan go after now?

See: Charlie Weiss at Notre Dame.

2005 - Fiesta Bowl (lost to OSU), top 10 finish in the BCS. Weiss won COY.
2006 - Preseason #2 ranking, ND went 10-2, lost Sugar Bowl to LSU, but finished top 20.
2007 - The wheels come off the bus. ND goes 3-9 (the worst season in its history).
2008 - ND starts out 4-1, but goes 6-6 for the season (and wins its bowl game against Hawaii).
2009 - After another 6-6 season, Weiss is fired.

Obviously Hoke hasn't delivered a stinker quite like ND's 2007 season under Weiss, but this season is starting to head in the direction of ND's 2008.

There's a lot of grumbling on their boards but it seems most favor keeping hoke and firing Borges and their o line coach.

Too soon IMO.

A HC deserves 4-5 years to get his players/system in place. He needs to make assistant coaching changes as necessary. You run into problems if a HC has too much loyalty to friends and won't make changes.

He has the Rich Rodriguez ace in the hole card to play.

The Maize and Blue are unlikely to fire him because of how much of a mess it was when he walked in the door.

Hoke would be in big trouble if Rich Rod had been a big winner.

.........

But you never know if Les Miles starts asking around at his alma mater.

Nothing would surprise me.

I don't know. I see the same problems I saw with Weis.

Players do NOT get better with him. They are what they are. There is no improvement. And against the better teams, no real fight in them. Even if he makes changes to his staff, I think he is the core problem. Once you scapegoat the assistants and things don't get better, the inevitable happens.

So be careful what you wish for Michigan fans. Because once those coordinators are fired, there's only one other place to lay blame. Firing assistants is the act of desperation.

Trust him Texas fans know from first hand experience....actually Auburn does too with Tuberville and Chizik but more with Tubs.

People forget that "mess" was 7-6 and improving every year. Now, they are gonna go 8-5 and are getting worse every year.

If you don't believe the recruiting rankings are gospel, they were in a better position when they fired RichRod than they are today.

Michigan should give him one more season, but when he goes 8-5 again, Hoke should be gone at the end of 2014.

You know who else landed some huge recruiting classes recently?

Charlie Weis
Will Muschamp
Mack Brown
Lane Kiffin
Gene Chizik (sp?)
Derek Dooley

Big frickin deal. When you aren't doing shit on the field, you can amass all of the blue chippers you want. Truly good coaches develop them, and then also develop the 2*-3* guys and turn them into studs.
