Northern teams recruit to northern climate and recruit players who can play in inclement conditions. SOuthern teams do not do that. Thus when southern teams HAVE to play in those conditions they fail miserably. It actually has been that way for forever. If bowls were played outdoors in Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Cincinnati we would all be talking about how much of a miserable clusterfuck failure the SEC has been over the last 20 years.

Here you go. See for yourself. Bad Weather Bowl Games » FootballGeography.com

That's a flimsy hypothesis based on a who-cares what-if.

Put simply, no one gives a shit.

But thanks again. :suds:

And you can't deny that they have struggled against not very good teams

Who was Ohio State playing when they went up against Penn State, Minnesota, and Va Tech?

Those 3 teams are not good either.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize a team that likes to air it out is going to be affected in freezing cold temps more so than a one diminsional running team

But it might take an IQ over 60. You have to remember who you're talking to.

And you can't deny that they have struggled against not very good teams. Cowherd was another one, glen mason, so there is three I think I have heard others but can't think of who they are

Yep they struggled in the first halves, but still won which is all that matters. The W is the key. I heard Cowherd today say that FSU was 3rd in his list. Not sure where you got that one. Glen Mason the Big Ten Network guy? Ok he should considering. That makes two compared to over a dozen. So where are the "many" at? Indulge me and try to remember if you can. I know you think OSU is better than FSU and that is fine. I know you want FSU to lose badly. That is fine too. But the glaring fact that OSU has a loss and FSU does not even under the conditions they put themselves in goes to being a championship team. Here is an article from Matt Leinart on the subject.

Jameis Winston, Florida State Seminoles still winning despite the noise | FOX Sports

Gives some insight to the struggles of a team trying to go for a second one in a row. I know it will not matter to you because you think FSU would lose to everyone in the top 7 or so. Which is fine because it is your opinion. But the fact remains they are unbeaten since November 2012.

A. Its not a hypothetical. It has played out since the beginning of bowls and B. No one from southern states cares because they dont have to woirry about it. Im sure the Bama fan doesnt care about bad weather, until they have to play in it against a Northern team anyway. But cheers to you too man

So. My Post was about FSU not ohio state. Bit since you brought it up other than Va Tech, TOSU was never behind by double digits in those games.

Apparently not, since you guys are no longer #1!!! For some reason they keep trying to move FSU down.. must be that shitty play matters. Who'd a thought?!?!?

I realize that. It's the only reason FSU is around. It's sure as he'll isn't because they have been impressive. In any game for that matter.

Do you think cold weather affects a passing team or an all running team more?

Has less to do with that than it does recruiting and how you structure your team. There are less spread offenses in the B10 because it is less effective in the cold weather. That means you recruit bigger linemen, bigger backs and generally less mobile QB's ( not all the time but generally ). This means when you go to a bowl game and play a team that recruits to the conditions that that bowl is played in you are at an inherent disadvantage. It also means that in the rare instances a bowl is played in conditions that favor the northern team the southern team usually gets beat. It has literally been that way for 60 years. Its not a new concept, it is only a debated concept by people who seem to think that weather and field conditions are irrelevant and that is usually the teams that rarely have to worry about them. Its like a wildfire, in Iowa I dont ever think about it and dont really consider it a danger because I never have to worry about it. Now in states where that is a concern Im sure they would tell me how bad that shit can be but until it happens to me I just think they are full of shit. LOL

Winning is all that matters. As long as they win they stay around. Actually they have been QUITE impressive in the second halves of all their games. I know not the whole game, but you have to play all 60 minutes to win and FSU has done that for 26 times in a row. When they stop playing for the entire 60 minutes they will lose.

Just because I'm lazy and not going to read through 12 pages of B1G bashing and Authority stupidity,

What has Mississippi State done to warrant a top 4 position? Is beating 4 loss teams and playing a junior high OOC schedule something to be rewarded?

MSU has the best SOS of the 4 teams being debated and they have the best loss. They probably have the 3rd best win of the group currently ( although if Bama beats Auburn that will end up being the worst "best" win ) and MSU will likely not even win its division. Moreso than all the other 4 teams MSU has an interesting case. In the end I dont think it will be enough though. Even a win over Ole Miss likely wont match up with Baylor or OSU's best wins using the committees rankings AND if both those teams win conference titles MSU will likely be out in the cold.

Because FSU has looked Unimpressive they can't afford a loss where other teams can.

Honestly FSU should be ecstatic that CFB went to the playoff system. Right now the Noles would be ranked around 6th or 7th using the old BCS system ( due in large part to their aggregate ranking of 14th by the computers) the playoff has saved the Noles and framkly it has saved CFB from having to explain how a 13-0 defending national champ misses the title game.

Shitty play is also needing the help from officials and fluke accidents to pull out wins.

That tipped pass in THE MIAMI Game was fluky as it gets. He was throwing into a pack of Miami defenders.
