Well, Texas is going to eliminate TCU. I've just got a feeling. Great record on Thanksgiving, something like 52-21-2 (I believe). As long as Watson can keep his head out of his ass, Texas can pull the upset.....For fuck's sake, it's considered now an upset if we beat TCU :L

I don't think TCU deserves a spot over Baylor. TCU straight choked against Baylor in a head to head match-up and that should count for something. If TCU is to make it in and Baylor doesn't, the head to head argument from the committee has lost all validity in my mind.

And TCU skull fucked Minny with ease. Minny's worst loss has come outside the B1G, just like tOSU and Mich State. LOL at tOSU putting it on "cruise control". You bet, guy.....

I bet you didn't watch the game, you just looked at the final score. Typical

The cold, wintry weather argument is an easy one to dismiss for fans of southern because they will never have to worry about it. Its funny though that in the rare bowl game that is affected by weather ( Miami-Wisconsin, LSU-PSU, Iowa-GT in recent memory ) the B10 has won ALL those games and then the other teams fans bitch about field conditions and inclement weather as the primary reason they lost. Very strange indeed.

So we're supposed to forget the B1G shat itself in all of their OOC games because "they happened early," but they're still thumping their chest about Indiana beating Missouri (who sucks)??

I'm having trouble keeping up with whatever narrative is being spun here

I know one off the top of my head, trevor matich. :laugh3:

He has FSU @ 7, tOSU at 3 :pound:

He is the only one I can think of. I know Herbstriet, Fowler, Holtz, May, Kanell, Fox Sports, Tim Brando, and others all have OSU behind FSU.

But none of their opinions matter in the grand scheme of things.

I did watch the game and Minn gave OSU all they wanted. Was a very good game and OSU never ran away with it.

I watched the game, and turnovers are part of the game, period. I was in attendance for the TCU/Minny game (dad is a TCU alum) and TCU destroyed Minny much worse than what tOSU did. Meyer didn't go into cruise control, that would be very stupid. Style points matter and when you hear "The Experts" talk on ESPNU, they talk about how tOSU "struggled" to beat Minnesota. I haven't heard one person say that game wasn't as close as the score indicated, except of course from tOSU fans.

I agree here. Unless Baylor loses again, they have earned the spot over TCU by beating TCU.

College football might be the only sport in the world where someone's opinion of who is better matters more than what actually happened when those two teams played.

Just want to point this out. When you state the bold there are no ifs, ands, or buts.

No, but it's interesting isn't it. Even with tOSU having a loss.

It tells you a lot about how people feel about FSU.

You still have not stated who these people are though. I stated the ones that I know do not feel that way. And I listed the 1 who has said it. I would really like to know who these people are.

And not really. They feel FSU is vulnerable which is true of every team this year. But almost every single analyst says that the one team you do not want to play in the last 30 minutes of a game is FSU. I think it comes down to people across the country wanting FSU to lose(even though they have not) for a couple reasons. Some due to the streak of 26 in a row, some due to Winston, some due to Fisher. Winning in the manner that FSU does this year just pisses people off because of being so close yet so far.

As a note on the weather being a factor in games. I went back to the year 2000 and looked at bowls played in rain, snow or cold. The SEC is a thrilling 2-5 in those games.

2009 BBVA Compass Bowl UCONN 20 USCe 7
2000 Cotton Bowl K State 35 Tennessee 21
2000 Music City Bowl WVU 49 Ole Miss 38
2008 Music City Bowl Vandy 16 BC 14
2006 Outback Bowl Penn State 20 Tennessee 10
2009 Outback Bowl Auburn 38 Northwestern 35

In 6 of those 7 games the SEC team was favored to win. 2-5 in bad weather guys!! Nice job. Tell me again how weather doesnt matter please... LOL

Yeah yeah. Still cannot deny the 26 in a row and the way the team plays in the second half. I am still waiting on your list of people. Why not post them? Curious as to who they are.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize a team that likes to air it out is going to be affected in freezing cold temps more so than a one diminsional running team

Bullshit.

We're talking about ONE GAME where Ohio State is begging for more respect because "it was cold." As someone else said, good thing Minnesota wasn't in the cold.

Your examples above have ZERO relevance to this thread and knowing you, just made all that up anyway.

But other than that, nice try! :suds:

The 2000 Music City Bowl is one of the best bowl games ever. That was where freshman Eli Manning came in to play down 49-16 in the 4th quarter to rally the Rebels to 38 points.

And you can't deny that they have struggled against not very good teams. Cowherd was another one, glen mason, so there is three I think I have heard others but can't think of who they are

Northern teams recruit to northern climate and recruit players who can play in inclement conditions. SOuthern teams do not do that. Thus when southern teams HAVE to play in those conditions they fail miserably. It actually has been that way for forever. If bowls were played outdoors in Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Cincinnati we would all be talking about how much of a miserable clusterfuck failure the SEC has been over the last 20 years.
