Lol. Good burn! I more meant related to hockey.

I'll talk Natinals anytime, but nobody on here wants to talk about them. This team is ridiculously good and so young. And I like what we're seeing from RGIII. Everybody clowns on it, but it still might be a very good move. The past six months or so have been among the most exciting times in DC sports I can remember in the past decade.

The innings limit on Strasberg is going to bite the Nationals in the ASS. I think RGIII will be a good QB. I just think the Skins gave up too much. Plus they play in a very tough division. Making the playoffs won't be easy & that means they could end up giving the Rams a top 5 to 10 pick.

Everyone is making too big of a deal about it. Everyone in DC knew this was the deal when the season started. I don't see how it bites them in the ass if they knew it was coming. They'll still compete to make the series. Our starters are DEEP as hell. And this team is built for the long haul. Shit, we have two rookies not named Bryce Harper batting .280 this year.

I agree. I wanted Tannehill plus the picks. But it may work out. Never has QB been more important and we haven't had a true franchise quarterback since maybe Sonny Jurgensen. It's kind of insane. But the team is a lot deeper than in the past. We'll still be 6-10 or 7-9 at best, but things are going in the right direction.

My problem with the decision on Strasberg is no team knows how many chances they're going to get to win the World Series. When you have the chance you need your best players available period.

Joe Theismann was the Redskins last Franchise QB. I'm not sold on Tannehill, I don't have a problem with trading up to get RGIII. I just think the price tag was too steep. Their are going to be much better QB's in this coming draft than Tannehill.

I don't have a problem with what they are doing. They've looked at a lot of data and consulted with several doctors, including the guy who created Tommy John surgery. The doctors think limiting the innings has a huge effect on long-term health. Who better to know than they?

My only issue is once they had a solid lead, couldn't they have sat Strassy in mid-August, rehabbed him with a couple short starts in the minors and used those innings in October instead. I think this team will have lots of chances to win the Series. I think they'll win 1 of the next 3. No issue with what they're doing (protecting their investment), but I wish they could have done it differently. If you win the division by 10 games or 1 game, it's still the same. But Rizzo has earned some trust. He's been a phenomenal GM so far.

I almost said Theismann instead. They couldn't wait for another draft on QB - that wasn't an option, especially for Shanny.

Shanny is part of the problem in D.C., not the solution. He goes through QB's like water goes down the drain. I know the Skins were desparate for a QB. I understand why they made the move. It's going to be interesting to see how it goes.

The Rangers could have easily won the World Series the past two seasons. They have the best farm system in all of baseball. Their team this year really good as well. They could easily lose the World Series three times in a row. The Dodgers are loading up. The Red Sox are going to have a lot of money to spend. The Yankees always have the money. When a team has a chance to win they should go for it. I have no problem with sitting Strasberg the rest of the year. However, I would name him the closer for the postseason if they're worried about innings. If they're fortunate enough to win the World Series Strasberg won't be eligible to get a ring because he didn't play in the postseason. Imagine how pissed off he would be.

They could have him pinch hit. I could totally see that happening, especially since he's a solid hitter.

Why would they waste a spot on the postseason roster for a pitcher they won't use?

Because of the 40-man rosters that happen in September/playoffs. The Nats probably will use 30 guys tops, so it's not a wasted spot at all. It's a spot they weren't using anyway. And it wouldn't even be a waste anyway. He hit .277. He's as solid at the plate as any other pinch hitter.

I thought the rosters condensed back to 25 for the postseason... :noidea:

Or have we had dickola to talk about for about a month now?

Lockout looming but no significant news from it. Player signings have crawled to a complete halt. Seems like there are a ton of free agents and RFAs still out there but it seems like the owners just are waiting at this point.

The labor talks appear to be going nowhere, which is fucking stupid b/c they'll just end up meeting in the middle in December instead of meeting in the middle now. Just a ton of PR going right now and no real talks happening.

It's a big void on nothingness in the hockey world.

I agree, its a quiet time. I have been working a lot too so that has kept me away.
Speaking of work, weird story. I am actually doing a little PI work right now. I am not really a private eye but I got a call from a lawyer who stated his client wanted to meet me. I met him in a church of all places. He wants me to find a musician who owes him some sort of contractual fulfillment. It sounds like a simple missing persons case so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Natinals have a damn good team right now, especially pitching. I'd love to see them win the title. As for RGIII, there's a ton of hype surrounding him so let's see if he's as good as advertised. He could end up being a very good QB, or the next Jamarcus Russell.

I hope RGIII takes the Redskins to the Super Bowl and on media day, a reporter asks him the following:

"How long have you been a black quarterback?"

Love it! Insert joke about if you jump on board this week, you'll be ahead of most of the fair weather Washington fans. ;)

I can't tell if you are being serious or is this is a reference to some kind of movie or TV show I'm not pulling. Hahaha. Glad C. Omeds (reporter/PI) is on the case.

"How long have you been a black quarterback?"

LMAO. Now I know that is a reference! Nice one.

What really irritates me is that with all this going on, I can't turn to NHL network for any kind of information. No news, no discussion. Just game replays and "Plays of the Week".

Seriously, guys. GET SOME HOCKEY NEWS ON MY TV!

I heard through a few people that being a PI is actually pretty boring and tedious because you spend a lot of time watching the outside of buildings. That being said, I'd love to give it a go.

I remember watching Stacy Keach as private eye Mike Hammer and thought "Man, he scores a ton of great looking chicks as a private eye".
