Is Derrick Rose the NBA's Albert Haynesworth?

The Redskins got more value out of Albert Haynesworth after the check got signed than the Bulls have gotten from Derrick Rose. While some might debate that the circus surrounding his unwillingness to return should be called cancerous, the numbers speak for themselves.

The Bulls franchise won't recover from D-Rose for at least 4-5 years. What a shame for them while he counts his millions.

Discuss.

I don't feel bad for Rose at all. Not saying I'm happy he got injured, because I would never say that for any athlete. The guy just signed a 10 year $250 million Addidas contract and signed a max deal contract with the Bulls not long ago. He's set for life, unless he's just really horrible with his money.

Rose milked the shit out of his ACL injury. Him and Shumpert tore their respective ACL's on the exact same week in the playoffs back in 2012, yet Shumpert returned in January of 2013, while Rose was getting his cheerleader routine on.

Really though? Another thread. You are the biggest hater I have ever seen, what has Rose done to you that you hate the man? It's almost like you're rooting for him to be injured...

Yeah cause Shumpert plays with the same agressiveness that Rose does... I hate when people compare injuries when these players are two VERY DIFFERENT players. Rose's whole game is driving hard to the net, Shumpert does nothing close to that.

Shumpert returned too fast. He had another secret surgery on his knee in the summer

Hammer Down, your confusing me, yes they used a high draft pick and cash for Rose but he can still recover and will play again for them. Its not like they just threw away some picks and cash and got nothing out of it?

So you think Derrick Rose is worth $120,000,000 and a #1 draft pick.

Right.

Derrick Rose will have to eat a helluva lot more Big Macs before he even comes close to being at the level of Fat Albert Haynesworth.

Hammer down. Rose has been spectacular. He was picked by the bulls, and he signed a $100M 5 year deal and yes, $60M will be used up assuming he stays out this year. But he is young and he will be valuable to the Bulls.

But for you to get perspective. I know a team that spent $30M on a broken down 40 year old guard, and gave up two first rounders and 2 2nd rounders , and the guy sucks. That same team gave away two more picks and Bynum and got nothing back there as well. Thats 6 picks, 3 being first rounders, and a (at that time) decent center, AND THEY GOT NOTHING.

Rose cost some cash, like Kobe does, but he will get fixed and Bulls lost no meaningful assets as a result of him.

Rose can't shoulder the load by himself. The Bulls need another shot creator ASAP.

Will be interesting to see what Rose is like after being gone from basketball so long and having to have surgery on and rehab both knees

Logic and you are like oil and water.

This might be the stupidest post I've seen on SportsHoopla in quite some time. But consider the source; a bitter Celtics fan. Trying to hate on Kobe in a lame attempt to make D-Rose look good? FAIL

How many championships and how much money profit has Kobe brought the Lakers? $BILLIONS

Over the last 18+ months the Bulls have paid Derrick Rose almost $35,000,000 and he has played exactly 10 games.

The math is simple.

"I'll take D-Rose any day." - moronic Celtics fans

Hammer Down ,

I never said I would take Rose any day. What I said was that even tho he is hurt again, he is young and the Bulls can recover. His contract is reasonable assuming he recovers. The Bulls did sacrifice a number one pick.

I gave you perspective as in your criticism of what the Bulls lost, I simply brought up some other crazy deals close to your home that the Lakers have lost on.

Repeat: $35,000,000

For

10

Games.

You (a Celtics fan) comparing the production of Kobe Bryant (the greatest player since Michael Jordan) and Andrew Bynum (one of the most dominant centers of the last several years) to what Derrick Rose has accomplished is ludicrous.

you truly lost me on comparing Bynum to Rose, and probably 99% of the posters.

I never compared Rose to Kobe either. Read my post.

I misunderstood what you said about Bynum.

A Celtics fan criticizing the Lakers organization is like a Jaguars fan criticizing the Patriots.
