Now, I don't think Murray wore Bama out, but he certainly exposed them.

I thought much the same thing. Dabo watched Oklahoma expose Alabama's secondary and had an offense that could take advantage of that secondary.

Considereding Auburn was awful and still beat the PAC 12 champion and blew out their B1G bowl opponent (who had beat the B1G champ) 63-14, I'd say there is a lot of opinion in your post and very little fact.

hey that was a quote from the article. my hands are clean

Such a tired fn argument. They only play 8 conference games, seldom play anyone with a chance of competing in non conference and always play a gimme late. What a joke.

You know, you might be close to something there.

Now, I don't think Murray wore Bama out, but he certainly exposed them.

I also believe that OU gave Bama more fits than Notre Dame did vs Clemson. Clemson was probably a bit better
rested for the game.

Clemson knew they could move the ball on Bama, by being balanced. They also knew their front four could
slow down the Bama running game. Not shut it down...just slow it down. Clemson shrunk the field on Bama.
They'd let them get yards but wouldn't let them get the big throw. When Bama got close and there was only
20 or 30 yards of grass behind the Clemson defenders, they brought the house on Tua. I do believe that Clemson
out-coached Bama. I will always believe that if Bama had switched to Hurts at QB when they got to the Clemson30, they would have won that game. Bama made it to the playoffs, because Tua was hobbled and Bama had to switch to
Hurts for the rest of the game and UGA couldn't control Hurts. He created spaces and took advantage of them.

Saban should have taken advantage of that. He didn't and got whipped.
Hurts?? :pound:

That 2nd half come back by Kyler Murray wore out Bama.
I find it interesting that the 3 teams that have beaten OU in the semis have gone on to lose the Championship Game. Coincidence?

Y'all should schedule them. You might actually get your first win over a team from South Carolina.
When I was stationed in Charleston, we called them cadiots (cadet-idiots). I honestly didn’t know they had a football team the whole time I was living there. They were good at packing ever bar down in the battery though

Yes, and I don’t know who argued anything about a “grind”.

Dabo is right. Bama didn't lose because they were tired.

They lost because they didn't want to be there.

It wasn't Saban for sure. I gathered from the article it was the nutty SEC nutswingers/media that call into the SEC network talk shows...which is mainly Finebaum. I'm sure there are others but that is the only one I know since I don't watch it except for games.

That said, I would expect the folks on the SEC network promote all things SEC. Same for the Rusty Cow network.

I'm guessing Dabo felt they crossed the line when they started slamming their ACC schedule instead of hailing the SEC.

But what the hell do I know. Something set him off though.

He should get the expert of all experts regarding "grind" and "murderer's row" schedules. Gordon Gee can edumacate him.

Never thought about it that way.
On top of having to chase OU receivers around all night, all 3 games have been on the Coast (2 in Miami and 1 in Pasadena). It's just a tougher assignment with a week turnaround for two basically equal teams. Not a whine for Alabama either, as the Tide have benefited from this scenario twice in both 2015 (Alabama beat Michigan State in the Cotton and Clemson beat OU in the Orange) and 2017 (Alabama beat Clemson in the Sugar and Georgia beat OU in the Rose). Just the way it is. Either way, Clemson punked Alabama last year and showed they were the best team. Right now, it's Clemson's world, and everybody else is paying rent.

Alabama has such a quick turn around between the conference championship game and the playoffs. I mean it was only a month to recover.
Winner^^^

Boise State has been accused of this same exact thing when playing P5 teams in bowl games. Story goes: Boise didn't have to recover from a tough regular season gamut.
-PAC12 team that lost.

That is a non-issue, as Alabama beat Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, partly due to having a month to prepare for that game. As a matter of fact, they are 4-1 in the CFB Playoff Era in the Semi-Final Bowl Games losing to Ohio State (B1G) in the Sugar in 2014, beating Michigan State (B1G) in the Cotton in 2015, beating Washington (Pac-12) in the Peach in 2016, beating Clemson (ACC) in the Sugar in 2017 and beating Oklahoma (Big Xii) in the Orange in 2018. It's the turn-around National Championship Game against an even better foe that has been tougher for them (and other Championship Game participants) not the Regular Season to Bowl Game turn-around.

I find it particularly interesting that in the 5 Championship Games, the team that beat Oklahoma (0-3) and the team that played in the Outdoor Bowl Game (0-4) has struggled more in the Championship Game and lost the CFB CG. I think it is clear that playing a Semi Inside and avoiding Oklahoma in the Semis is more successful path to the National Championship. One or both of these factors negatively effected Oregon in 2014 (Semi in Rose Bowl), Clemson in 2015 (Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl), Georgia in 2017 (Oklahoma in the Rose) and Alabama in 2018 (Oklahoma in the Orange). 3 of those four faced the double whammy (Oklahoma Outdoors).

This could simply be a coincidence, as there are only 5 years of data so far, but I think it is intriguing. This year, both Semis will be inside (Peach and Fiesta), so avoiding OU in the Semi will be the key IMO!

Just my onion.

my favorite was when they would point to how many ranked teams were in the conference but ignore the fact that there are 2 division and it would be rare to play all of them
